Arrival Story:
We drove 17 hours to pick her up from San Marcos, TX to St. Louis, MO. It was a long drive but well worth it. There were five puppies in the litter, two females and three males. We had first pick out of the females. And we chose Yukiko! She was the more sweet loving pup. Her sister was a lot more rambuncious. She comes out of Wild Wind Alaskan Malamutes. Her sire is Ch. Wild Wind's Goin'Great Gunz and her dam is Ch. Wild Wind's Sno Heart Klhoe.
Bio:
She loves to travel - whether it is just a trip to the local park or cross country. She has been to Canada and in many states throughout the US. She enjoy long walks and hikes. She also enjoys her quality "couch time" hanging around the house in the nice cool a/c. especially in the summer. She loves to cuddle and is an all around sweet girl.

I went for a hike today with my Mom and Grandma. It was a lot of fun. We went to Landa Park in New Braunfels - they have a real nice hiking trail out in the woods. There were other hikers out there and I got petted lots. Woo Woo! What fun!

I was "tagged" twice - first by Yuji and then Coco … They say I have to list 7 things about myself and post it in my diary and then tag 7 more pals to do the same.
The object of this game of tag is to learn some more things about your friends. You are supposed to list 7 things about yourself and post it in your diary. Then pick 7 friends to pass it on to and have them do the same thing.
Here are my 7 things.....
1. I get excited if I hear the treat jar rattle and go running into the kitchen.
2. My leash and collar have pink flowers on them.
3. I always get tons of attention when I go out somewhere with Mom. People come running over to pet me.
4. Mom takes me to the groomer at PetSmart to get baths.
5. I enjoy cooler weather and like to spend time in the backyard napping out in the grass.
6. I have never met a treat I didn't like.
7. If Mom or Dad is on the computer and I want attention then I'll come up to them and put my head under there arm - then I get petted.

Yukiko's mom here...
I went to PetSmart today with Yukiko, Deshi, and Tetsuya. I said when I got to the car (I won't do that again.) I usually just take Yukiko or the two shibas unless my husband comes along then I will usually take all three dogs.
Here is how it went... all three dogs scrambling to get into the store. A male store employee starts petting Yukiko while Tetsuya and Deshi jump all over him wanting to get petted as well. After he pets all the dogs and I chat to him awhile I start to walk around... by walk around I mean about four steps till someone else wants to pet Yukiko. Again, the shibas are vying for attention.
More people and more attention towards Yukiko with the shibas not getting enough attention for their liking (more jumping up.) Then an owner with his dog walks towards us at which point Tetsuya starts barking. I try to redirect him while still handling the other two dogs.
Tetsuya then starts sniffing displays like he wants to pee on one of them. I take them all outside and let him pee. I go back in the store to try to look around - again difficult with three dogs and people petting Yukiko at every turn. So, finally I leave and vow not to attempt that again.
