My human (I'll call her mom) found out the my sister Sophie's humans had enrolled her in a puppy class at Petsmart. I haven't seen my sister since we were separated on April 11th. To kinda tell you the story here, (I'll try to keep it short) this is how it goes.....We were born in Texas on February llth, 2005. As soon as we were old enough to leave our mother, were were flown to Sea Tac in Seattle, Washington. From there a nice lady picked us up and took us to Whidbey Island until she could find a nice home for us. On April 11th, I went home with this nice family to Olympia, WA (about 125 miles away). Boy, do I have a lot of miles on me! My new mom found out that my sister Sophie was also going to Olympia. What a surprise it was to find out we live just about a half a mile away! My mom and Sophie's mom have been in contact with each other since we came home. Due to busy schedules, and my human brother playing baseball all of the time, we weren't able to get together.
Now to get back to my meeting with Sophie.....Tonight was Sophie's puppy class at Petsmart. My mom and my human sister, Ashley, couldn't wait any longer to see Sophie and decided to surprise her at her class. Ashley had previously drawn a picture of what she thought Sophie would look like. Across the top of it she wrote "To Sophie from Riley". Ashley and Mom walked into Petsmart (they left me in the car). Not ever actually having met Sophie's parents in person, they wanted to surprise them. They spotted Sophie and her parents instantly. Ashley walked over to them and handed them the picture she had drawn of Sophie. Sophie's Mom had a rather puzzled look on her face. It was like how could she possibly know her dogs name? My Mom pointed out that the picture was from Riley. Her face lit up with delight. She instantly started looking for me. My Mom said that she had to go to the car to get me. Mom came out and took me into the store. I recognized my sister right off. My little stubby tail was justa' wagging. Sophie and I jumped all over each other just like old times. It sure was good to see her. We had just a short time to get to know each other again. Our parents agreed that we would meet at a park real soon.
Gee, it sure was good to see Sophie. I can't wait to see her again.
