Leave a bone for Snoop - Thanks for helping me!

Nicknames:
Snoopers, Snoop Doggie Dog

Quick Bio:
-pound dog-dog rescue

Birthday:
June 1st 1999

Likes:
She adores people, walks, and hoarding toys

Pet-Peeves:
Not being able to run around at two hundred miles an hour

Favorite Toy:
She loooooves this little stuffed Christmas toy (wasn't originally a dog toy) and slippers. She doesn't chew them or anything, just gathers them around her.

Favorite Food:
She is on a major diet right now, so I think just about anything would taste good to her!!

Favorite Walk:
She loves to walk anywhere!!

Best Tricks:
Definitly hoarding - I have found some pretty odd things piled up, including lots of shoes...

Arrival Story:
Snoop was found one day, limping around on three legs with no collar. A kind person picked her up and called the shelter, who came and got her. They took her to the hospital right away, where it was discovered that she had severed the ligament in her back leg. Her family never came to get her, so she came to my house to wait for surgery. In order to fix her leg so that she can walk again, she needs to have the ligament reattached - which is really expensive. The SPCA is raising money for her through the Biscuit Fund. If you think you can help her, you can donate online. The address is http://www.spca.bc.ca/help/biscuit fund.asp You can then click on "help the animals" and then on Snoop's picture. She would be eternally grateful!! Snoop will be ready for adoption, two months after she as her surgery.

Bio:
Snoop is one of the sweetest dogs that I have met. Even though she is in pain, she frantically wags her tail to greet you and gives you gentle kisses. She really misses her family a lot though. When we go for walks, she starts whining when she sees someone coming towards us and gets really excited. When they get close enough for her to realize it's not her person, she gives a sad little sigh and keeps going. She is such a little trooper! She is wonderful in the house, completely housebroken and very good with the other pets. She completely ignores the cats, unless they jump on her and is great with my other dog - who can be a little dominant sometimes!! She seems to really like kids and the one time that she was introduced to a little girl, she almost quivered with delight and sat pressed very close next to her, giving her little kisses under the chin. Snoop is just the most wonderful dog - everything that you could ask for in a pet. It is so sad that her family never came for her.

I am sooooo happy!!
So many things have happened in the last couple of months I don't even know where to start....
I guess first, I should say that I had my surgery done. Yuck. Not something that I would EVER care to repeat!! I was doing just fine before. I would tuck up my leg and could move as fast as lightning. At least, I am sure I could have, if given a chance!! ANYWAY. I got my leg fixed and it really hurt for about a day, and then I realized that I could STILL hike it up and run like lightening!!! At least I pulled at the leash like I could...
It has been about a month now, since my operation and I am doing really, really well. I can put lots of weight on it now, and am up to reasonable walks. Finally. Finally. Finally!!! I sure could handle some running though...sigh.
The BEST part though, is I have found my new special, heart people. They are the BEST people in the WHOLE world!!! My foster mom kept promising that this would happen, but after all my sad times, I never thought it would.
They are just SO great!! My new mom used to have a dog like me, who had the same surgery too, so she knows lots about what I need. Which, I figure is pretty important!!! I mean, what if I had gone to a home without a Queeen size bed to stretch out on?!?!!? I shudder to think about it!!!
And maybe even the better, best part would be that I am an ONLY dog!! No horrible, evil husky touching MY things. My bones, my shoes, my pillow....it's all mine. I don't have to race into the house anymore and straight to the toys to ensure there's been no touching or contamination. It's JUST the way I left it. I think my blood pressure has dropped in half. Thank Goodness!!!!
SO, I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to the many, many, many people who were kind enough to care about me and to want to help. Without all of you, I would never have had the chance to find a new life in the world's best home!!!!!!

There are some pretty awesome toys here - I can't get over it!! Though that other dog....gggrrrr.
I was relaxing on the bed, gettinga good stretch without my foster mom taking up all the good space and the best part of the blankets. THEN. Out in the living room, I could here a distinctive squeek, squeek, squeek. now I'm no dummy, AND I have a pretty good set of ears. I could tell in a heart beat that it was one of MINE. I came out of the bedroom, took it away from her and brought it back into my bed. I was no more than comfortably settled in for two seconds, and then....more squeeks!!!
I had to make FIVE seperate trips to the living room to take my toys away from that self involved, sneaky, tempermental husky. Imagine.
My foster mom told me that I looked pretty funny with my little mound of toys. When she was cleaning up, she even found the shoe that I had stashed under the pillow. There's no privacy anywhere!

Things are definitely looking up!! March 31

Well, things are pretty good here I have to admit. Even though my foster mom says that I am too fat (something about all that weight being part of the reason my ligament snapped....lots of big words I didn't get) and she has put me on a diet. I'm not too familiar with this word. "Diet"? It even sounds all wrong!! And I am not too sure why she isn't sharing all the good stuff on her plate either. Oh well, no one else seems to get any....
I am going a little nuts not being allowed to walk though!! Every time we go outside and I start to get a good head of steam up, it's "Oh no Snoop, slow down!!" Doesn't she realize there are SQUIRRELS out there?!?!?
This leg thing SUCKS!!
