Arrival Story:
Dylan is a rescue from a local 'No-Kill' group. He was abandoned with the rest of his litter at an animal shelter about 50 miles away. I had been looking for a dog and loved the pointer personality. I saw him and fell in love immediately.

Bio:
Dylan is a super high energy Pointer/Lab mix. He loves to play ball and Frisbee. He loves to run more than anything. Most importantly, he loves his little Border Collie sister (Marley) and his mom more than anything. Dylan got his name from Bob Dylan (one of his mom's favorites). Dylan came to me as a scared little puppy. He was frightened by just about anything. He has done a lot of work to build up his confidence to a healthy level. He still has some fear issues with other dogs but does okay with the dogs he knows or after he gets to know any new dogs. Dylan plays flyball! It makes him happier than anything else. He's also done a bit of agility training and we really want to do more in the future. You can see it in his face that he knows he does a great job and feels so proud!! Frisbee is a daily event for us. Walking just isn't sufficient exercise for this one. He needs to run and so run he does! He likes off leash walks in wide open spaces where he can run to his hearts delight.

MY FIRST TITLE

I earned my NAFA FD on 02/05/06 at a tournament in St George Utah. My first title ever!

I am not quite ready to be running with the team. My mom was super scared that she was going to release me too early or that I might just keep on running once I got the ball. I did so well when I had to be subbed in at the last minute for the last two races of the last heat of the day becasue one of our team dogs was injured.

I am going to another tournament next month. I am running as a sub again but for my friend Penny who is a little older and gets worn out a little faster than some of the other dogs. I will likely get more opportunity to get used to the racing ring so one day I can be an excellent Flyball dog!!!

Getting ready to move........

My mom found a new place for us to live. We will be moving in very soon. She has promised it has a big backyard for us to play frisbee in. It's also away from the busy roads so I might be allowed to go out front once in a while.

Marley's friend Delta is going to be living with us. I don't much enjoy playing with him because he is quite hyper but when he gets older we will get along much better.

My flyball training is going well. I started working on the training ramp now that I will fetch the ball better. We are moving along and getting better with every practice.

My mom has working with me and the clicker a lot. My recall still needs a lot of work but all my other commands doing really well.

I have a new found favorite game called Frisbee. If you haven't tried it before, than you really should. For dogs like me, it motivates us to jump really high and catch a flying disc. I am really good at bringing it back as long as my sister Marley isn't trying to steal it from me.

I have been going through a really hard time lately. My Mom is at a loss for ideas on how to train me. I keep starting fights at the park and my Mom is afraid to take me there.

I got a new cousin this morning. He doesn't have a name yet but he is a fox hound mix. My mom says we will be spending lots of time with him. I liked him at first but after a half hour I decided that I needed to be mean and I bit him. I actually broke the skin and the puppy was screaming and crying. I don't look like a mean dog on the surface. I cannot quite explain why I am behaving this way. Hopefully we will be able to get over this with the help of a professional trainer. We are looking for a good one and hope to find one soon.
