Arrival Story:
We found an ad in the paper for a Husky mix and drove to PA to get her. She was the largest and darkest in color of her litter. Dad & son wanted the Black Lab that was also for sale. Mom wanted the cute, fluffy, puff ball! She sat quietly in a box on the drive home and we named her before we got back to the house. We thought she looked like a little bear. She wagged her tail for the first time when she met her new brother (at the time) -- Sam, a miniature Poodle. It turned out that Smokey is not a Husky mix at all. She's more likely a Keeshond/Chow mix -- she has a grey tounge.

Bio:
Smokey LOVES to go for walks and rides. She used to like to chase rabbits and squirrels, but now mostly lets her sister Mollie chase them as she watches from the porch. Smokey had a sister named Dana, a deaf Great Dane. She acted as a pair of ears for Dana, alerting her to various things like the doorbell. Smokey also learned to "go get" Dana for Mom & Dad when it was time to eat or go outside. She makes a great hearing ear dog! :o )
