   Leave a bone for Kiara

Nicknames:
Kiara Dawn, Kiara Bear, Miss K Bear, Princess Kiara

Quick Bio:
-mutt-dog rescue

Birthday:
June 10th 1995

Likes:
Belly rubbings, sleeping on mommy's pillow and snuggling up next to Mommy at night, mothering baby kittens and birds

Pet-Peeves:
Ear checks, baths, fleas, being made to move over on the bed, going outside in the rain and cats who play to loud at 3 a.m.

Favorite Toy:
Mommy's pillow

Favorite Food:
Hotdogs, cheese, and anything Mommy eats

Favorite Walk:
She has severe arthritis so her favorite walk is just being able to get outside.

Best Tricks:
She once went and found her own crackers when Grandma wouldn't share her Ritz crackers. Kiara got on the counter, grabbed some Saltines and went back in where grandma was. As if to say, "SO there, I'll get my own". She also whines to get her way.

Arrival Story:
A friend and I were visiting a flea market where someone was giving away puppies from a litter their dog had. My friend took one and that left one little girl puppy there crying. I told my friend she couldn't just leave that puppy all by herself. My friend couldn't see having two puppies so I ended up taking Kiara home. Ironically, my friend found out she couldn't keep her puppy either so I adopted hers, too. (She named her puppy Mariah Lee). So I ended up with twice the love.

Bio:
Kiara has had her share of illnesses, but she's a trooper. She has severe arthritis, flea allergies and her thyroid doesn't work. In 2003, she was diagnosed with cancer, but she had surgery to remove the tumor and is doing great. She is an amazing dog - the original "Earth Mother". She wants to mother anything that's a baby, especially the kittens and birds who live here. She growls at any of the other dogs who act mean toward "her babies". But just like any other mother, she also keeps those cats in line. When they're dashing around the house at 3 a.m., as cats are prone to do, all Kiara has to do is let out a low growl. They stop their shenanigans IMMEDIATELY!! LOL!
