Arrival Story:
Mollie Jo was born and raised (3 years) in a puppy mill. She was kept for her *RARE* color and was used for breeding. I am unsure of how many litters she actually had, but with her last litter she had complications and was rushed to the vet for an emergency C-Section. The "Breeder" felt that this could possibly happen again with future litters and told the vet to go ahead and spay her. After Mollie had been spayed the "breeder" decided to give her away to the first person that would take her off her hands. The first family that came to get her had a toddler and another child on the way and was unable to keep her and returned her after two weeks. After we decided that we were able to get another dog we called the "breeder" and asked if she had any puppies, but did not. We talked to her for a little while and she said that she has a female that was spayed and useless to her. My mom and I talked about it and decided that we had to take her. We went to pick her up two days later. When we got to the house and saw her I wasn't really sure if it would work out, because she was very nervous and had this blank look on her face, I was expecting a happy little dog that would be ready to play...But there was no way I was leaving her behind. As we were leaving the "breeder" kissed her and said "I will miss were a great little girl" (This just following the words "Spayed and Useless"). When we left we went up to my grandparents house so they could meet Mollie and I must say that they were a little shocked. Bobo (Our Miniature Poodle) also was unsure about this new addition. But after about 1 year everyone has settled into the pack and every thing is going smoothly. Mollie is living proof that an older rescue dog can come into a family and adjust well to a life without bars and life a without fear. As you can tell by the pictures on her page she is a little Princess and LOVES every minute of it!

Mollie is my first rescue dog and from her I learned about training, rehabilitaion, and most of all dog rescue.
