So there we were...me, mommy, and daddy...we were at the dog park. I hadn't been there in awhile. It was nice to see dog faces again. I was having a great time...runnin', rollin', foamin' at the mouth! We stayed for about an hour. I got a little bored, so I just walked around with mommy and daddy. Well, they saw that I was bored and ready to go. When we walked out of the gates, mommy came up with a great idea! "Let's go to the river!"
The DuPage river runs along the ack of the dog park. There were a few other dogs over there already so I thought..."what the heck!" So I'm sniffin' around and runnin' and drinking the water...mmm...river water! As I'm runnin through a thick patch of grass, I accidentally stepped on a broken glass beer bottle! Don't worry, it didn't hurt...yet. Mommy and daddy checked my paw, but I guess they didn't see the cut. We walked to the edge of the river and that's when mommy found an amazing thing! "What's this red seashell?! I've never seen a red seashell before!" Mommy's a little slow sometimes. Of course, I had bled all over the place. She looked around her and saw all my bloody paw-prints, so we went home so daddy could try to clean it out.
Daddy gave me a bath and tried to clean the cut out, but it was just too deep, and it wouldn't stop bleeding. I decided to paint the bathroom floor with my bloody paw-prints. I called it "Spots, by Chloe." I did the kitchen too!
About an hour later, we were in the truck heading who-know's-where! Alls I know is it wasn't the dog park, that's for sure! When we got there, it was like my vet's place, but it was a different place. (I spotted their floor too!) A very nice lady came in and looked at my paw. Next thing I know, mommy and daddy are handing her my leash and leaving me there!! I didn't know what was going on!!! That's about the time I blacked out. Everything just got dark and I fell asleep.
When I woke up, I was in what looked like "The Joint" but much cleaner and warmer...and less barking! Just a few minutes (and $300 later...thanks mommy!) I was on my way home with this soft, blue "boot" on my paw! Was that a trip, or what?
