Quick Bio:
-mutt-pound dog

Gotcha Date:

Cats! She took to Emmett immediately

Initially barks at new people. We don't know if that will change once she relaxes

Favorite Toy:
Little squeaky soccer ball and a squeaky fish

Favorite Food:
Blue Buffalo Wilderness, Duck

Best Tricks:
Sit, down, and they said she says I love you but it sounds more like a howl to us

Arrival Story:
We found Betsy on Petfinder at a shelter about 1 1/2 hours away from us and decided to give them a call and see if she was still available. They said she was and we went to see her the following morning when they opened. Teddy came along for the ride to see how they got along. He was nervous at the shelter but he had no issues with Betsy. She did bark at us though, BOL. We spent an hour or so visiting and letting the dogs get acquainted and then started the paperwork for adoption. Betsy came home with us and although she is a bit nervous, she is settling in with the boys. We don't know if we want to keep her original name, so right now that decision is still undecided.

Salad Days

Final pupdate!

Before Dogster closes it's community for good, I thought I would post one final pupdate.

After going into anaphylaxis a few weeks ago, even with recovering, it really elevated my liver values so the vet put me on some medication that would hopefully help the liver start functioning properly again. I needed to come back a couple weeks later to see if the medication was working. As the days have gone by, I have continued to feel better and better. Mom has been so happy with how well I had been doing.

Anyway, today was the day I had to go back to the vet to see if the levels had gone back or were heading back to normal levels. Well, great news! My levels went from the 700's to 37. The vet is so pleased with how well I am doing. This was the last piece of news to consider me completely back to normal.

There is still always the chance I will run into the allergen that caused all this to happen again and we go through deja vu, but the pawrents hope and pray it never happens again.

Thank you pals for all the love and prayers. I can now put this episode behind me.

I'm home and recovering

Rough few days but I am home and recovering. I still have to go back to the vet tomorrow for a follow up appointment but at least I can sleep in my own bed tonight.

I sure scared the pawrents, that is for sure. IT was touch and go for a moment but love and prayers helped pull me through.

Scary part is, we will never know exactly why this happened and therefore don't know what to avoid. That scares the pawrents the most.

I'm really going to miss Dogster and my furiends. What a shame that it is closing for good this time. Our community always rocked!

Love to all my pals and thanks for pressies and POP. With luck, whatever happened Friday that nearly took my life, will NEVER happen again

Prayers for Salad

Salad could really use some prayers right now.

During her walk after dinner, we believe she was stung or bitten by a bug. She went into anaphylactic shock and had to be rushed to the Andover Animal Hospital for emergency care. There she got worse after not responding to treatment. Her blood pressure was low, her heart rate was critically erratic, and she went into a seizure. They suggested euthanasia at that point but then her heart rate stabilized a bit and her gums showed a little bit of pink. They did all they could and after about another hour she was at least breathing again on her own. They couldn't do any more for her and we were transferred to another ER. She has been admitted and will stay there in hopes she can recover. We stuck around for another hour or so before heading home but there wasn't any change when we left. At least that meant she wasn't any worse at that point either.

Please pray for Salad. We are devastated by this and just want our little girl to be able to come back home again. Her prognosis is guarded. Right now it is completely touch and go
