Arrival Story:
My Saving Grace In 2007 I was the victim of a brutal domestic assault. This assault left me scared and scarred. I isolated myself away from everyone. Until in 2010 I finally made the jump to buying my first home and vehicle with a man I thought I could trust. I also had two pups at this time Harley and Tucker they were my everrything. Then without warning my everything was ripped away once again. I lost everything in a very nasty break up. I moved in with my step mom and my little brother. Sadly our dad had already passed away a couple years prior. I couldnt take my pups landlord wouldnt have it. :( Even with losing everything I felt like I could breathe a little better. Very shortly there after less thank a week to be percise, another blow this time an apartment fire took what little I had left. Homeless living in a tent in my grandmothers backyard I really wondered if I was ever meant to be happy. My step mom, little brother and I eventually found a new apartment and I found a new boyfriend :) Still I didnt venture to far alone like not even off the front porch unless someone was with me. I had zero independence and I was angry, depressed, hurt and ashamed. My step mom then dropped a bombshell she was moving out of state. Seriously :( At this point my new boyfriend was working in Auburn Maine so I was forced due to income and vehicle limits to move less than 5 blocks from the same adress I was brutally assaulted at in 2007. This kicked my PTSD, Depression, thoughts of suicide and isolation into overdrive. :( I was again back at square one hiding in fear. About 2 months after moving into the apartment we wound up at the Androscoggin Humane Society. I dont know why we went maybe just to pass the time and look. But when I walked in I went straight to the counter and asked to see the worst case dogs the broken and abandonded ones. Thats when I met Polly she was just as scared, scarred, and broken as I was. She was it I wanted her. And I got her. We grew together out of that fearful scary dark place we had both retreated into. She gave me everything I needed. She is now a registered service dog for me. She is my world. Her and I have many more stories both good and bad. A couple more rocky moves and bad relationships But in the end we always were together and had eachother to hold.

Bio:
On August 8th, 2014 I had to ask a neighbor to rush us to the ER Vet here in Lewiston, Me. She couldn't stand up on her own. She was diagnosed with serve lyme disease infection, and given a prescription for Doxycycline 100mg tab. Thankfully the vet was able to give me 15 pills for free. My fiance ( yup no matter what I keep looking and pretty sure this time we got it right ) and I spent the weekend raising money to pay for the 4 week treatment and the cost of her ER visit. We manage to gather up just enough to pay for half of her prescription a dent of 103.40. I am on SSI and he is currently looking for work with no luck yet, we cannot afford the rest of her antibiotics or Vet bill. ANIMAL EMERGENCY CLINIC OF MID-MAINE 37 STRAWBERRY AVE LEWISTON, ME 04240 207-777-1110 Name on Account is Laura Mclaughlin Client ID 50375 Bal. Due 127.25 Hannaford Pharmacy 95 Spring st Auburn, Me 04210 207-784-6497 To fill the other half of her prescription it will be 103.40 Name on the Acct is Laura Mclaughlin Medication is for Polly DOB 10/10/1990 I think I know they had to change her birth year so that the child discount didnt kick in. She was actually born on 10/10/10 and We rescued eachother on 9-30-11. I cannot even fathom what would happen to me if I lost her. She has been the one here by myside through everything.

Still feeling like junk. My Humom and Hudad have been watching me pretty close since I got sick. I did get a warm bath tonight which was nice until I found out why. I am on antibiotics and well they make me kinda constipated and my ya know anal sac on my right side was really swollen a couple days ago. Mom and dad expressed it OMG not cool. I have NEVER had this problem ever. They have been real nice about it though. Being really gentle and dad holds me close and talks to me while mom does what she needs to. Its just awful I am already sick from a tick now this bark bark bark. CANT WAIT TO FEEL BETTER.
