New career as a model beckons...

My masters have recently started using me as a model. I don't mind - it is really good fun dressing up and I can show off to my pals!

Yesterday I went for a lovely walk along the river with a new design (Valentines bandana) and gave it a really good testing!

I jumped around in it, I investigated rabbit holes, I took it for a swim (Chasing the ever-elusive ducks - grrr, one day I'll get my paws on them....)and then ran around drying it off.

Halfway round the walk I had a real treat - hot buttery toast at my favourite tea room!! YUM!!!

The bandana was much admired by all I met and it still looked like new when I flopped off to sleep in front of the fire at home :-)

I think there are some pictures here.... https://www.facebook.com/dudiedogbandanas?ref=hl

Product testing day!

Wow!

Today I did some extensive product testing for my 'pack leaders! They put one of their new Valentines Day dudiedog bandanas on me and we went out on my favourite walk! WOOF!!

This walk starts with a trot down the road, showing off to my neighbours Flo-Jo and Harry (both Border Collies), Freddy (BC x Jack Russell) and Frisbee (Bichon Frisee). I got admiring dog-whistles from Flo! :-) I think the guys were just jealous!

Then we reached the field and off the lead time! BRILLIANT!! So many smells, so little time...too many and I couldn't contain myself. I must admit I was a bit mad at this moment....I may have had a little 'accident' ...

No matter, the field leads down to the river. Big and brown it was and covered in DUCKS! I love ducks!! But they make me very frustrated - they bob about all superior thinking they're safe on the water. One day I'll catch one, I will, one day...

Never mind, I managed to retrieve a few sticks for my pack leader so that made us all happy (wish he wouldn't keep throwing them back into the water though - why do they do that?!)

I carried on, taking my owners downstream (I had an ulterior motive ;-)), to the next village.

There I managed to persuade them (us BCs have amazing powers of persuasion you know!) to visit the tea room. One of my favourites place in all the world! They made me a slice of hot buttered toast! A rare treat (I'm not normally allowed bread, boo!) I soon wolfed this down I can tell you! I may have had a little snooze under the table while they took soooo long to eat their food - eating with your clever paws is all very well, but if humans just used their mouths like us dogs we'd all get on much quicker I reckon.

On the way back I carried on testing the bandana. I had already tried it in the river. Now it was to see how it fared underground! I found a few rabbit holes to investigate and stick my head in. I was actually a bit cautious about this as in the summer I did this and found some nasty stinging things! They stuck themselves in my fur and stung me - it was very painful! I don't want that to happen again - but I love trying to catch rabbits too....I'll probably catch one of those the same day I catch a duck...Don't think I'm fat and slow. Two years running I won the open dog class at running at the local show in Nidderdale. I am VERY keen! I ran so hard last time I actually caught the rabbit they put in front of us - but big secret here - it is ALL FAKE!! It isn't a real rabbit at all!!! Big con...:-(

After failing to find any rabbits I looked for small furries (mice and voles I think I've heard pack leader call them). This involved lots of listening, being quiet and then sudden pouncing. I am really good at this. I wish the humans would all just be quiet though - they seem to scare them away everytime. But one day I'll catch one, one day....

By now I think I'd tested my bandana quite well and I decided it was time to wash it so I jumped back into the river and gave it a thorough soaking. I think it still looked okay, not that I could see it under my neck, but other humans were saying how pretty I looked. Certainly Flo gave me another welcoming bark as I arrived back in our home village :-)

When we got home I was, sadly, given a good towelling off, but I still managed to shake some dirty water over the kitchen units so it wasn't all bad news...! Pack leaders weren't quite so impressed at my 'art-work' though. They have no taste in modern doggy art movements - Caninism I call it!

I think the pack leaders took some photos so I will see if I can persuade them to discover how to load them onto this brilliant website...

Oh My Goodness!

I have been nominated for Diary of the Day!

I've only just joined Dogster this week. I've been having a great time finding lots of new friends - although one criticism I have is that these computers don't let smells come through. As we all know, smelling someone is as important as seeing someone! One day humans will wake up and realise what is important in life and develop something even better than just words...

Anyway I suppose I ought to write something....my mind has gone blank. Not good for a Border Collie!

I think I'll send a few photos of me doing one of my hobbies - climbing trees.

My pack leaders always make funny squawking noises when I do my tree climbing, and even my friends say they can't be bothered to do it. But I can't be the only hound who likes to go up. There are SQUIRRELS and BIRDS up there!!!! They live up there!!!! Can you believe that?? If you like climbing trees too get in touch, maybe we could start a new club?!

I'm also quite good at climbing over stone walls but this seems to make my owners squawk even more so I don't do that very much anymore... :-(

Anyway, today I have had my usual morning run around the village and fields. I found some particularly interesting smells in a couple of holes, I had my head right down them! Made my nose all brown. My pack leader threw a stick into the beck which I was happy to fetch back for him, and he seemed happier that I was a lot cleaner, but it just made me wet instead. So I curled up in front of the fire....more squawking from pack leader alerted me to the fact that my fur was becoming a bit too warm. There WAS a funny smell in the air, and my beautiful fur is now a bit frizzy on one side...

Better go, feeling drowsy again. Will bark again soon - lots of woofs and sniffs to all my new friends here on Dogster. You're all brilliant and I'm really enjoying being on here!

Happy trails - Skye Blue

Too busy to go walkies?!

Well, I have always been a little suspicious about this modelling lark my pack leaders have been foisting upon me recently, but it is becoming ridiculous!

All last week all they did was sew and do things on this computer thing here (I've sneaked on while master is having a lie down - my paws a bit muddy from lunchtime but I'm hoping he won't know I've been on here...). All that work resulted in new products, which they keep testing on me!

Mind you, it's not all bad news as on Sunday we had a right long walk around the ghyll - lots of water, lots of running and jumping and lots of mud!! I had one of the new Dudiedog bandana prototypes on for testing (I think they are going to call it the Drool-buster Bandana - it'll be an attractive bandana with a towelling section for wiping away drool - which I understand some dogs do - I don't of course....) This walk was the highlight of the week I can tell you - I found loads of new doggy pals, chased some ducks, tried to follow a squirrel up a tree and smelt loads of great smells in the grass!

But otherwise the week has been a wash out. Lots of rain, which I don't mind once I'm out in, but looking at it from the warmth of the house makes my paws shiver I can tell you! Been a funny winter here - we have still had no snow! I LOVE snow!! I love pulling little pack leader around on her sledge - makes her squeal so much it hurts my ears! Brilliant stuff even if my paws and nose do go numb, and the less said about snow-balls the better! Make my mouth all tingly!!

Other news. Recently I saw next-doors cat enjoying some cat nip. Looked like fun but didn't do anything for me - wonder what they see in it. Then again, they're cats and they're just weird anyway...

Ooh, I can hear biggest pack leader upstairs, better go. Need to wipe the keyboard!

Tired!

Oh, I am so tired this morning!

One of my pack leaders was up all night making a new thing to hang round my neck! Why doesn't she sleep?? It must have been at least 3am by the time she put the lights out!!

And then they are all up again at 6.30 to get ready for morning walkies - littlest pack leader leaves us then too, maybe the two are related? I love walkies but I was just too tired to do much more than investigate a few dozen rabbit holes...

At least I was able to help a bit by 'product testing' a beautiful bandana. It is a Stars and Stripes pattern, and has a secret bit to make it even more useful. I'm not allowed to say more here, but the new bandana will be on sale soon once pack leader has worked out to make it in any quantity! We are definitely running a real cottage industry here in the Yorkshire Dales - all four members of the pack are helping in the various ways they can. My jobs are the most important though of course.

Anyway, I can hardly keep my eyes open, and the hearth is looking nice and warm so I am going to take advantage of it right now!

Happy trails, Skye Blue x

Thank you to all my Pup Pals

The fire got too hot, my fur became a bit smelly, luckily I woke up in time! What was my pack leader thinking? Stupid human....

While I'm awake, and he's upstairs, I just want to say how much I appreciate all the little gifts my new Pup Pals are leaving me. I am touched at your generosity :-)

I had to do a bit more modelling this afternoon - including a stars and stripes item! Seems we also do a British bandana. I think I understood pack leader say they are now on ebay (UK) under the Dudiedog bandana. I'd be happy to deliver some bandanas to my new friends in the USA by the way! They might end up being a bit soggy after a few hours in my mouth but I'm sure you won't mind! But pack leader said it was much cheaper to just put them in the post. Where's the fun in that?!

Oooh goody, there is a delivery man at the door - must go and see if he has any treats like last time!

REVEALED!

Well, I've been told I can bark the news all over town now!

The new product has been officially launched and I can finally let you know what we've been doing all these days and nights (yawn!)

The four of us have become aware that some other dogs drool and dribble - I of course DO NOT do this, but I have noticed that some of my doggy pals do. We don't care of course, but I have noticed that human pack leaders seem to worry about this perfectly normal spit, often flying about when we shake our heads.

Pack leaders had a look round for a product on sale anywhere but failed to find any, so we have come up with a solution - the....

DROOL-BUSTER BANDANA!

A unique TRULY DROOLY DRIBBLE SOLUTION! You can still be stylish, but the bandana also has a practical towelling panel for those essential mopping up duties!

I think pack leader has done an advert - I think it may be here...http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item= 261374957474 - also on my Facebook page (dudiedogbandanas)

Phew - with all that going on is it any wonder a dog feels tired? Actually it is about time for my tea-time walk so I'm going to nudge big pack leader and get him to stir himself off the couch and do something more useful - namely, taking me for a walk!

Still no snow here yet :-(

The Drool-Buster is coming on-stream...I am becoming bored!!

Well, what more can I say than the title? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2613756 49564

Pack Leaders keep waking me up, putting another new bandana round my neck, taking my photo and then letting me drift back to sleep, only to wake me up again! Grrr!!

Still, I muddied my nose big time at every opportunity today - and I deliberately didn't pose very well. I'll show them! They can wave as many dog treats as they like under my nose - doesn't mean I'll make it any easier for them to take my photo ;-)

I'll put a couple of the images pack leader took on this page, but I'm sure there are a few where I managed to move and ruin the photo. Big pack leader was certainly barking quite a lot at me so I think I may have managed that objective :D

I woke up at one point to find a blanket on me! The cheek of it - might explain why I dreamt I was on fire!

Oooh, Diary of the Day again!

Well, what's a dog to do?! Another nomination - it's like the Academy Awards at Dogster, I feel very honoured indeed!

Well, to celebrate we all went out for a lovely walk! I took the lead and led the way to my favourite place, the local waterfall. There I retrieved some vital sticks from the water while the pack leaders kept their feet dry! Hardly fair...

Still, I didn't care - their loss and I had all the fun :D

I also managed to find some voles hiding in the grass. Made my nose all dirty anyway, made me sneeze! Judging by the barks by the pack leaders, I think I had my funny pre-sneeze face on again! Still at least it made them happy.

Do you know when your pack leader is happy? We have tails and expressive ears of course so we always know how each of us are feeling, but how do we tell how they are feeling? They don't have tails as far as I can tell, and their ears never move!! Weird creatures. Still, they have clever paws which can access food and carry things better then mouths.

Although I must admit I am quite proud of how soft my mouth is - I can carry balloons really easily and hardly ever pop them! Do you have any special tricks?

I think pack leader may put some balloon photos up one day, when they have finished taking photos of dog bandanas that is! More today. They had to really clean my nose before these were taken. I think todays pattern was a smart stars and stripes design - it had the drool-buster towel panel in it too. Smart AND practical! I think he's been putting them on ebay - I have been trying to sleep. The fireplace is just sooo warm!

Still no snow here - what is going on? It'll be spring here soon and I won't have got my paws on any snow or eaten any snowballs at this rate :-(
