Tricks are for kids, silly rabbit
Jones is a homebred out of the great Lukie's daughter and quickly finished his Championship owner handled. He is a Great-grandfather to Lola and therefore Great great grandfather to Jethro.
Sadly, Jones has a bowel problem due to his tail being too short and damaging the nerves controlling his bowels. Yes, tails in Frenchies ARE natural and are not cropped!!
As a result, he has to have a doggy door for nature calls so he lives in my home in the warmer months and my boarding kennel during the Winter.
Jones is a character as are many French Bulldogs, and is a joy to live with and listen to!!! In fact, back in 2007 Jones traveled with me and Darrell to Denver for the National Specialty and it was an entertaining trip, to say the least!
Jones finally lost the battle with his bowel issues and his eye issues last week. He joins the other great ones up at the rainbow bridge, leaving me with just Jethro after living with multiple Frenchies since the early 1980's. It is truly the end of a long and great era!

Last week I had to make the journey we all dread... it was time for Jones to visit all his relatives up at the Rainbow Bridge. I waited and waited to write this entry, Jones represents the end of a long era in breeding and showing Frenchies for me. Yes, I still have Jethro, but being neutered he will never be shown or be a daddy. I just couldn't write about Jones and all the others.
I just found the following on Jones page on my account pages from our local vet. I couldn't have said it better myself!!!
"When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together."
Goodby, old buddy!!!

Today Momsie decided since I no longer chase and try to kill the cats that perhaps I could be a "real" house dog and come out with the others.
You see, I have a MAJOR bowel problem, yup, mine do not work, or, perhaps they work too well? Anyway, I have constant diarrhea and it is pretty nasty. Mom and the vets have tried 80 million things over the years and finally have given up. My diarrhea is sooo bad that it actually squirts out of me like a fire hose!!!!
I used to live in the boarding kennel during the Winter and in the house indoor/outdoor pen with the doggie door in the Summer but the girls at work really hate to have to clean my kennel four or five times each day and Mom says the stress of the kennel actually makes me worse. Sooo, this Winter she is leaving me home in my own little pen. She bought hundreds of those poopy pads and I consented to use them.
Anyway, when I can use my doggy door I stay clean and spotless all day and all night but it is way too cold to have a vinyl dog door in a house in the Winter in NH... the wind keeps the dog door open and the whole house is freezing.
Sooo, today Mom decided to put me out with the other dogs. I was pretty good, I ran around and I even pooped outside instead of inside. BUT, suddenly I realized that TOTO was out there with me...this will NEVER DO!!!
Soo, I jumped him and grabbed him right in his face. Momsie was right there and yelled at me, that made me mad so I grabbed him again, hehehe! Momsie grabbed ME and put me right back in my pen, boooo!!!
I couldn't hurt Toto...after all, almost all of my teeth have fallen out cuz I am so old! Did she care??? Nope, she did not!
Oh well, now she will have to keep cleaning my pen and changing my poopy pads. Not my problem.

Most of you already know that those nasty raccoons came along and ATE Mom's chickies. They only left one, why I don't know, but she was very, very lonely.
Being a smart chickie (maybe that is why she is still here???), she now sleeps in the cedar tree right above my pen. In the morning she is often disoriented and comes down right into MY pen.
Since I am older now I no longer am fast enough to catch a chickie or a kitty. Come to think of it, even those cats now climb into MY pen and use MY doggy door to get back into the house. Most of the time I am sleeping and I don't even hear them, BOL!
Anyway, I did invite the chickie inside. She came in, but she was upset there was no chickie food in there. Of course I EAT all my food so she couldn't have that either. I did let her drink some of my water cuz it was hot outside.
Mom doesn't really like this plan so she chopped off the long feathers on her wings to keep her on the ground. Obviously, it did not work!
I did take my blankie outside so she would have a soft place to lay her daily egg...did you know those eggs are quite tasty!!!
