Finally, she took this one of me resting. The very next day she took me to work and gave me a very short haircut!!! Like Angie, I can see again with NO hair getting in my eyes!

Best Tricks:
getting people to pick her up and hold her

Arrival Story:
Crystal came from the Handler guy. She is a powder puff Crested and was originally going to be a show dog but one of her ears refused to stand. Cryssie didn't mind, she became a house pet and never looked back!

Crystal loves anyone and everyone. Inside the house she is calm, cool and collected and a perfect angel. Outside, she is a totally wild woman, racing around and stomping in any and all mud puddles she finds. Even outside alone she will grab a toy and race in a huge circle as fast as she can! I just love watching her in action.

Momsie has a new plan to bring Spring along a bit faster in this Winter of brutal records. She has decided to give us all a nice, Spring haircut!!!
First it was Angie, but since she had her show coat, I didn't think that counted. Next, it was Beanie... he looks Springie, alright, if you can see him. With all the shivering he is doing it's really hard to see his coat, hehehe! Annie was next. She got a nice, reasonable Spring haircut and she isn't cold at all...she never leaves the comfort of the warm cuddle bed under the heated fish tank.
Finally, it was my turn. A few weeks ago Momsie and Tonya were grooming me and Tonya mentioned how nice I looked with my hair beginning to get long and flowing again. Mom said she was probably going to let it grow out to be really long and flowing. Tonya asked her what she was planning to do when I ran out in all the Spring mud. At the time it was well below zero so Mom didn't think it would be an issue. Probably won't be until well into August, or maybe even September this year?
Well, the other day I sidled up to Momsie and asked for a bit of lovin'. Next I knew, she had grabbed a brush and was madly trying to dislodge some matts that had taken up residence behind my ears. Then she discovered MORE matts between my front legs and all along my belly.
And, the temperature was still well below freezing so the mud wasn't a problem.
Next morning I found myself on my way to the kennel. Sure enough, Mom popped me up on the table and got out the clippers. She used the normal "Winter" length and cut all my body down. Next, she got her scissors and actually CUT OFF MY CREST!!! I was sooo worried, what is a Chinese Crested without a Crest????
I snuck a peek into that huge mirror she has over there...whew, I still have a crest, it is a nice, neatly trimmed, shorter crest and I admit, I like it!
Like Angie, I can see again!! I am sooo happy... there is no hair stuck in my eyes making them all blurry and goopy, and I CAN SEE AGAIN!!!!
OMD, it is NOT working... I just went outside and I can see there are three inches of brand new snow already and it is still falling and supposed to give us another six inches or so!!! What is your next plan, Mom??

Wow, almost a year......

Yup, it's been almost a year since Mom helped me write a diary. My life is boring, I admit, but really, NINE MONTHS???? Now, I hope I can think of something for her to write, hehehe!
Seriously, I have landed right into the top female dog position here...come to think of it, except for Annie who is a bit senile, I am the ONLY female dog here! It is amazing how much those boys will snivel and quake when I enter the room! Ahh, the power, who could imagine how wonderful being the Queen can be... I LOVE it!
Well, I loved it, right up until Angie came home. When she left here she was but a baby, in fact, a pretty fine baby to play with. I really enjoyed having her around.
Suddenly, two months later, she arrived home, and marched into the house. First thing she did was march up and bump me. Bump ME, the Queen!!! Of course, I bumped her back, and even put my face right into hers for good measure. Sadly, Momsie was right there and did her "Hrumph" noise, really LOUDLY.
Knowing that Momsie would be leaving to go over to work I pretended I was tired and laid down on my bed. As soon as she walked out the door I "reminded" Angie that she was still a baby and I was the Queen here... I guess she got my drift since from then on she has been sniveling and quaking right along with the boy dogs.
Ahh, the Queen still reigns on!!!

Dogster... here, gone, here again, who knows???

Boy, it has been tough getting on Dogster lately. Last weekend we ran in the lab pen lots and Mom got lots of photos and low and behold, we couldn't put them on until this weekend!!!
And, other times we can read forum posts but not respond or other silly things. Right now it seems great so we will take advantage of it!!!
Today Auntie Jeanne came along down to visit with her new lab puppy. She also brought Gemma, Quincy's sister. I like Gemma, always have, so we played quite a bit in the lab pen.
Mom generally shuts the chickies into their pen on Friday night so we can have the lab pen without them for the weekend. Well, it was pouring last night so she didn't wait up for them to go to bed, she went to bed first. This morning she tried to get them all in with the promise of some cracked corn but only eleven of the twelve came.
Anyway, we all ran off to the lab pen and were having fun playing. Suddenly, Beanie discovered the chickie over in the corner...he woofed and chased her so of course we ALL got in on the chase. That hen was pretty fast and quickly outran us and hunkered down in a thick patch of blackberry bushes.
Now, I KNEW she was in there...I could smell her and I wanted her. All the other dogs went back to playing but I could not forget that chickie. I tried to squirm my way into those bushes but those prickers were about an inch long EACH and my coat and soft skin were no match for them. A couple of times I snuck out of the pen thru the missing slats on the stockade fence, but there was no way in to the chickie from the outside and Mom always discovered me out there and made me come back inside.
I now have to contend with just visions of fresh chickie in my dreams tonight, darn it all!!!
HEY, forgot to mention...Mom finally found a new home for Pixie, the mini poodle. Good thing, too, because she and I did not see eye to eye and were going to come to blows soon! I cannot believe she came into MY house and was trying to upsurp ME!!!!
