Wow, it has been FOREVER since Momsie allowed us access to the puter to write a diary. She has been reading the forums and posting on there, but she just plain old quit helping us write diaries.
She says she's been busy. I have to tell you, being busy didn't stop her from getting a whole bunch of little fishes and putting fishy swimming pools all over the house. She says they are easier than us dogs, but frankly, I am not so sure. She is always messing with them and feeding them and cleaning them and junk like that. She even buys them stuff like lights and heaters and stuff like that.
There is a plus, however, at least for me. I am the one that gets to go in to the fish store with her. It's pretty neat there, they have lots and lots of dogs there and usually even some kids for me to meet. And, the people there like me so I get to even hang around without my leash when I am in there. They sometimes give me treats but since Mom was so good at teaching me not to take food from strangers, I pass on the treats.
Meanwhile, our house just keeps getting more and more and more dogs! Mom says they aren't staying, but, hey, she's said that before and look at us now!
First there is my niece Pixie. Her mother was my first wife, Jenny and her father was Thomas. She is black like me and is 6 years old. She was a failed home, not her fault and not her owners fault...they just didn't like each other for whatever reason. Mom is only mad that they didn't bring her back way, way back when she was still very young. Mom says she is just staying until Mom can fix her issues, then she will have a new home.
And, then there is Zoey and Hilda. Most of you know Hilda, the Frenchie that lives here usually in the Summer. Well, Zoey is their lab and she has some cancer in her kidneys so Mom wouldn't put her in the kennel, instead she is in MY room!!! It's okay, she is very nice and we all know her anyway. Hilda is in the in/out doggy pen with her buddy, Jones. Jones had to come home because he is very dirty in the kennel and the girls were getting mad at him. Mom said it is warm enough on that side of the house now so he and Hilda are fine. I think Hilda and Zoey are only staying for another week.
Well, I better go now, Mom just gave US some nice, meaty bones and I gotta get chewing before someone steals MINE!!!

Well, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!!! Mom was playing around this afternoon and believe it or not, she is pretty sure that I have created a blog on blogspot.com!!!!!
Here is the (CORRECTED) address: http://nyleveiam.blogspot.com. If this works for you, please leave us a comment there, or even here will work. Sadly, Mom IS computer illiterate, so she can't make that link clickable, you will have to cut and paste it, I guess.
For some reason she chose me to be the Guinea Fowl to test it out. (You thought I was gonna say Guinea Pig, I bet, BOLBOL!) And, since she was at work, she even found a nice photo of me and my girl, Skye, to put in the blog!!!!
Mom will be back later this evening, if we don't all freeze to death!!! At that time we shall edit the blog and make some real sense of it, assuming it works.
We all know what ASSUME means, right????

We are all very, very sad and somber tonight. As most of you already know, Say has announced the Death of Dogster/Catster as we know it, all community forums will be shut down, leaving only their "magazine". There will be NO forums, no groups, no pet pages, nothing at all for us here.
Mom already seriously regrets that she deleted us all last Fall. She would have kept our diaries, if nothing else, but she was angry and should have counted to ten first!!!! Years ago when Lukie passed she did copy all his diary entries and made them into a book. She gave copies to her Frenchie friends, and she still reads it now and again.
Beanster had the most entries of all of us. When we started, he was the golden boy (literally, I guess?), and Mom used him to post most of the time.
After a while, Beanie became the jokester of the bunch, I was the serious one, and the rest each had a persona they posted with. Mom will forever regret she has lost all that.
BUT, she won't regret that nearly as much as losing the number of friends we have made here, real friends, not just made up ones. We have met MANY of our Dogster friends in person, and we still continue to meet with lots of them in real life. Those relationships will not die, but it will be hard to keep the ones alive who live in different countries and far far away.
Dogster was able to melt the miles and somehow, someway, we could all get together for a Pawty and it didn't matter how far away from each other we were. We always had Zaidie's lear jet to pick us all up, BOL!
I sure hope someone, someway can come up with another community we can all belong to and continue to make memories!!!
