Well, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!!! Mom was playing around this afternoon and believe it or not, she is pretty sure that I have created a blog on blogspot.com!!!!!
Here is the (CORRECTED) address: http://nyleveiam.blogspot.com. If this works for you, please leave us a comment there, or even here will work. Sadly, Mom IS computer illiterate, so she can't make that link clickable, you will have to cut and paste it, I guess.
For some reason she chose me to be the Guinea Fowl to test it out. (You thought I was gonna say Guinea Pig, I bet, BOLBOL!) And, since she was at work, she even found a nice photo of me and my girl, Skye, to put in the blog!!!!
Mom will be back later this evening, if we don't all freeze to death!!! At that time we shall edit the blog and make some real sense of it, assuming it works.
We all know what ASSUME means, right????

We are all very, very sad and somber tonight. As most of you already know, Say has announced the Death of Dogster/Catster as we know it, all community forums will be shut down, leaving only their "magazine". There will be NO forums, no groups, no pet pages, nothing at all for us here.
Mom already seriously regrets that she deleted us all last Fall. She would have kept our diaries, if nothing else, but she was angry and should have counted to ten first!!!! Years ago when Lukie passed she did copy all his diary entries and made them into a book. She gave copies to her Frenchie friends, and she still reads it now and again.
Beanster had the most entries of all of us. When we started, he was the golden boy (literally, I guess?), and Mom used him to post most of the time.
After a while, Beanie became the jokester of the bunch, I was the serious one, and the rest each had a persona they posted with. Mom will forever regret she has lost all that.
BUT, she won't regret that nearly as much as losing the number of friends we have made here, real friends, not just made up ones. We have met MANY of our Dogster friends in person, and we still continue to meet with lots of them in real life. Those relationships will not die, but it will be hard to keep the ones alive who live in different countries and far far away.
Dogster was able to melt the miles and somehow, someway, we could all get together for a Pawty and it didn't matter how far away from each other we were. We always had Zaidie's lear jet to pick us all up, BOL!
I sure hope someone, someway can come up with another community we can all belong to and continue to make memories!!!

As one gets older, one's idea of the importance of a New Year celebration takes on a different meaning. Rather than excitedly cheering in the New Year, I was reluctantly mourning the passing of 2013!
It was a good year, 2013. I did lots of kayaking, canoeing, camping and general playing in the fields and woods with my two girlfriends, Skye and Julia. I chased a million chickies (sadly, I failed to catch A SINGLE ONE in 2013, unlike 2012.) I stayed over at both my girls houses lots, and even managed to retain my top of the heap ranking here at home.
I attended two really GREAT virtual pawties at Coco and Puffy place in New Mexico, and I actually did catch a wild chickie there and even ate the whole thing!!! Hopefully we will have MORE exciting pawties and maybe even have one here in the Summer so I can teach everyone how to kayak or canoe or catch a froggy or a fishie. Could be fun!!!
Now, on to 2014. So far, there have been only three days where Momsie could have taken us down into the field to run and play. Once it was raining and all icy, and twice it never got above 15 degrees and the wind was brutal. Last year or the year before, I forget, it was 45 degrees and we were sunbathing on New Years!!!
So far we have had over 20 inches of snow, our water has been frozen, and our power has been off from 12am to 3:45pm all in just the FIRST week of the new year. Doesn't bode well, IMO.
This morning it was TWENTY BELOW ZERO and Mom even had to race out in her nightgown and slippers to grab poor Jethro and bring him in from the cold cuz he was lying in a heap screaming that his tootsies hurt. I admit, I wasn't racing all over the place but at least I did go over to see if the chickie door has frozen open yet, or if Mom had tossed any frozen eggs out there for me.
Suffice it to say the rest of my day today was spent in my cushy dog bed under the desk where the heat register is. It was even too cold for me to ride along when Mom went up to the store.
Tomorrow promises to be better, I think??? It IS supposed to warm up a bit and even rain later in the day. I am hoping Mom will take us down for a run BEFORE the rains come. I really can't imagine that cold, frozen snow will make things much warmer even if it DOES manage to get up to 35 or so. Oh yeah, it is supposed to rapidly fall back down to sub zero temps immediately after the rain!
We shall see how it goes, I guess.
