Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Quick Bio:
-mutt-pound dog-dog rescue

Gotcha Date:
October 18th 2013

March 29th 2012

Loves affection, playing with Sylvie, his food, toys, and soft bed. Sitting on laps is a top priority.

Sadly, he's not allowed on the furniture. Well, only when invited!

Favorite Toy:
Kong Wubbas, shed elk antlers, soft squeaky toys

Favorite Food:
V-Dog with pumpkin or garbanzo beans, coconut oil, maybe some nutritional yeast!

Favorite Walk:
Around the subdivision. It's very steep, but he's up to the task.

Best Tricks:
Being fearless and brave in spite of his bad leg. He learned "sit", but only if he's on a rug!

Arrival Story:
Bronson, then Satch, was at the Avery County Humane Society in North Carolina. After losing our precious Metta to a brain tumor, we wanted to adopt another in her memory. He was very stressed in the shelter. We decided to take him for a "test drive" as the shelter called it. He wasn't putting much weight on one of his back legs, so we took him to our vet's to check it out. Turns out he has a disease called Legg-Calve-Perthe, where the blood vessels around the femoral head die and consequently the femur head and neck start to dissolve. It is degenerative and the only cure is surgery. The vet said he is always in pain. Happily, the prognosis is excellent for normal use of the leg after recovery. So....we went back and adopted him and scheduled the surgery for three days later, tomorrow, Monday, 10/21. Will update soon.

Bronson was a stray in an area with no animal control. Someone caught him and brought him to the humane society. We were told he must have been on his own for quite a while; he was covered in fleas and small injuries and very underweight.

Forums Motto:

Woofs to all my super Pup Pals,
Just checking in to say hi. I am one happy pup, this last year my leg has improved so much. It got much stronger and is pretty hard to tell from my other back leg. I am a strong and brave Bronson! Life is great. My biggest challenge now is riding in the car without getting upset. Maybe I'm still afraid something bad will happen to me. We go for short rides in the neighborhood almost every day, then right back home. I'm getting better mom says. I love my cave bed and blankie, my fursissies, my home and yard, oh, and my mom and dad. It's just a wonderful dog's life, I tell ya! I turned out to have a talent for talking. Sounds like I'm complaining, but I'm just trying my best to communicate. I'm never far from a lap, such a nice place to relax. Can't wait to see what the fam has in store for me on my barkday. I'm sure the celebration will be fitting for an extra special super puppy like me! Love and licks, Bronson
P.S. Mom says I'm "adored". Not sure what that means, but it must be good!

Is it spring yet?

Hi Everypaw!
Long time, no post, but that's not my fault! We all know who has to be depended on to type these entries; maybe opposable thumbs will grow on me soon. Hope all my pals are doing great, survived the winter in good form, and are ready for spring. I sure am! My back leg didn't recover as much as hoped, but I use it when I walk slowly and there is some more muscle there now. I get around with absolutely no problem, so I am grateful for that.
I gave my mom a scare a while ago. She couldn't find me anywhere but there I was, right on my bed. I like to burrow under the bath towel on the bed, then flatten myself out so it looks like nothing is there! Mom doesn't know how I can breathe because there is not one bit of me showing! BOL!!
My new home is pretty great. My fursis Sylvie is lots of fun to play with and we have so many toys, no matter how many I "kill" there are always more. My favorite place to be is on Dad's lap. It's just right for a quick nap. I figured out the invisible fence pretty quick, now I patrol the perimeter and keep out all deer, squirrels, chipmunks and other intruders with my fearsome bark and quick reflexes.
Mom wanted me to mention that she took down my ancestors' pages who are at the Bridge. She just got too sad every day looking at their beautiful faces. Everything is saved, all the photos, comments, profiles, etc. Hope all their pals will understand. I never knew them, but I hear they were pretty wonderful and are sorely missed.
Anyway, HAPPY SPRING, to all my superpals!
Love and licks,

Hi to all my Superpals!
My mom has been trying to type a diary entry for about a half hour. Since the pawrents changed their ridiculous rule of no dogs on the furniture, to no dogs on the furniture unless invited, well, let's just say it's hard to type with me snuggled between Mom and the keyboard! BOL!!! Yesterday the results of my Wisdom Panel came. It said I am all Jack Russell terrier on one side and the other side is some combination of Tibetan Terrier, Japanese Chin, Cairn terrier and whippet! I am 100% cute and brave, that's all there is to it!
Thanks to all my superpals who have sent encouraging dogmail and gifts to help me with that darn leg! Now I have had three laser treatments with three more to go. Two this coming week and one the week after. I'm not sure if they're helping yet. I just don't want to use that leg, it's smaller and so weak, while the rest of me is big and strong. The pawrents promise to do everything they can to help me be a four-legged boy though, so we'll just have to see how it goes.
Sylvie and I are play pals, we tug on toys and wrestle and Iris helps by standing right over us and barking! BOL!!
I love my furever home and it is clear I am loved, safe and happy!
Much love to all from me, Bronson
