Sorry to keep you hanging on the prospect that the raw diet worked but I wanted to really test my theory. Well, no changes, just that first night which was strange. Oh well. I will keep trying. They all do love the raw diet though, who wouldn't. As i mentioned, it's not going to be easy to keep it up being vegan but it's for the love and health of the dogs that we do the things that we do so, I will continue buying meat and such and hope it keeps them healthy if not anything else. Dogs are carnivorous and just because of my beliefs, I could and would not take that away from them. I do appreciate the vegan approach but just as I would not impose that upon a human child unless it was their choice, I could not impose that on my four legged kids either. If I knew the benefits would be better, it would be a thought but until they tell me that they don't want meat, I am not going to take it away.
So, last night I had the highlight of my week. Doggie toys were delivered in a big box. I am glad that i had ordered multiples because everyone seemed to want the same toy. It was Christmas in September they way they had the toys sprawled between rooms. Cooper was a terror, he wanted them all, or he wanted everything that everyone else had. Toy box is full again, I wonder how long it will take this time before they are all in shreds again....

Dogs are omnivores and cats are carnivores. You can research this on the internet! Also, it's no different to force a meat and dairy diet on a child than a vegan diet. The very conservative American Dietetic Association has clearly stated that vegan diets are healthy for both children and adults.
Best of luck with Buddy.
My mistake, I did not know that. I assumed in the "wild". I will do my research. Thank you.
Humans are omnivores....and evolved to eat vegetable and meat and dairy...
Dogs are omnivores.. and will eat a little non meat.
Feeding dogs meat (or meat based)is healthier... and you are totally right about not forcing any human to be vegan(or even vegetarian) as it is not the evolved diet of human any more than dogs eat corn willingly in bulk.
You are doing the right thing.. and doing WELL !!!
So glad they are having fun with the toys !!!
Steak and chicken at your house! Woohooo!! :):) And a full toy box to boot? It's like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!! :):)
