Reilly has been very busy all day today! It was a beautiful day a lot of people were outside, and he was busy guarding the house against kids of all sizes and bicycles and skateboards and cars, never mind watching the birds with Theo. We doubt he has ever even seen a bike or skateboard before today. He's a good boy =)

Reilly is definitely back to his old self! He is also done with his Tramadol (pain medication) and his Doxycycline, which he has been on for a month. He will stay on the Prednisone for now (20 mg every other day). Unfortunately, more Immiticide shots to come. We have to keep him quiet and resting for now (not a problem, since his favorite activity is napping!)

I'm really not the religious type... more spiritual than anything... but this, I thought, was beautiful. The Goddess approves =)

"God said "I will create a companion for you that will be with you forever and who will be a reflection of my love for you. Regardless of how selfish, childish, or unlovable you may be, he will love and accept you as you are in spite of yourself." The new animal was pleased to be with Adam and he wagged his tail. "He will be your protector and your friend." God said. "His name will be a reflection of my own name, and you will call him DOG"."

Reilly is doing much better today than expected! He cleaned up all of his noms, took his meds, went for a walk and even let me groom him (staying away from the back muscle, of course.) He doesn't really seem to be in pain.

The Bear is back home! The vet said he did really well. This was the first in a series of Immiticide injections that he is going to have to get in order to combat the heart/lung/artery worms. He is a bit drowzy and may be in some pain so he is on Tramadol for the next few days.

I am dropping The Bear off at the vet this morning for a series of injections to combat his heart worm... from what the vet told me, the shots are pretty intense and can have side effects, so he is spending the day there. I'm worried about him :( THANKS, NATIONAL GREAT PYRENEES RESCUE, for not testing Reilly and lying and saying he was heart worm free. Thanks a LOT. He wouldn't have to be going through this if you had just tested him!!! Gah. Don't mind me. I'm just having a tempest in a teapot!

We had some really nasty weather starting at around 6 last night. Crazy. Snow, sleet, rain... thank Goddess it didn't freeze! Reilly had to go out at 3 am but when he stuck his head out the door and saw rain and a slushy mess, he didn't want to go out lol. Neither did I! But we survived lol. Quickest walk EVAR.

March 14, 2013- Visiting the print shop!

Some friends of ours own a print shop downtown and they love dogs and they invited Reilly to come visit, so we went today. He was a little scared by the traffic (trucks, etc.) but he did pretty well. But when I was ready to leave, he wasn't!! He was all kinds of comfy and I didn't have the nail clippers with me, so I had to kinda push him to the door (no Reillys were harmed while I did that, and the floor seems okay too.) Once we got to the door, he got the idea that he was leaving with me lol.

So I got my workout for the day. Never a dull moment!!

March 13, 2013- Coming on command/Downstairs

Reilly is starting to come on command (in the house, that is!) But still, it's a step!

He still hates going downstairs and will only go if one of us is behind him and we have the nail clippers in our hand. That's great motivation =)
