Mom had today off cuz she had a physical... I didn't know it was a test but she said she passed???? Anyway, they are testing her blood for RABIES... isn't that a DOG DISEASE??? Speaking of, maybe if she flunks we can get our shots at the same rabies clinic, BOL! Mom's work is having one pretty soon, I guess.
Mom said she had her shots in 1985 and she hasn't been tested since 1995. They are all having a wager to guess if she is still passing or not. Mom says she is!! I am not cuz I NEVER had that shot (yet).
Anyway, cuz she was home I had to stay home from work, too. I was sooo mad about that, everytime she put on her jacket I screamed for her to take me to work. She didn't!
She did let me out for a romp with Toto. I was racing all over the place and she picked me up so I started struggling and tried to bite her chin. She got mad and held me tighter!
Then, she said the nasty words...obedience class!!! It just so happens that Mom is currently teaching a puppy class so she said she was going to take ME next week. I watched that class... they are all MONSTER PUPPIES... labs and goldens and GSD's and pit bulls and two of the puppies that Mom's work had here. They are all HUGE, their tails weigh more than my whole body. I can just see it all now when we have our puppy play period... I am sure they will consider ME the squeaky ball to play with!!! Thank you, NO!
Mom said it would be okay... she wouldn't let me PLAY with them, just work with them in the training part. Hrumph!
HRUMPH... doesn't she know that us Frenchies don't do obedience??? Guess she will find out, BOL!

Today I am 14 weeks old and, like usual, Mom decided to take some photos for posterity. Well, because that HUGE blizzard is coming here, she had to hurry up and do it so the girls could go home.
Not too bad, I guess??? Anyway, Toto came to work cuz he was gonna go get his teeth cleaned if the vets had any cancels next door and Ali came for a haircut. I come anyway!
When we got up this morning it was just barely snowing a tiny bit. Mom said that wasn't the "real" blizzard, it wasn't coming until noonish. Guess what? It IS just noon and it's snowing like crazy all the sudden!
Mom said everyone canceled their grooming except three dogs and they are all finished so she already sent Tonya and Julia home. Toto doesn't get his teeth done cuz NO ONE canceled their surgery at the vets this morning. Mom says she will have to make a real appointment for him, BOL>
Sarah is upstreet getting Mom's drugs that she forgot to refill and some milk and bread for the storm, then she is going home, too.
Not me! I am stuck here all day with Momsie and Toto and Ali. We can't go home until 5pm. We can't even go early cuz we have TWO daycare dogs here that don't go home until just before 5pm and those people NEVER get out early.
Oh well, I will have to snooze away the day. What else to do during a blizzard???? Stay safe everyone else who is having this blizzard!!

Today it was slightly warmer, but there was no wind and the sun was shining brightly. Toto was away at Julia's, so Mom decided it was a good time for me to take my first trip to the lab pen.
Mom and Julia got me a new jacket, so I wore that. They should have gotten me some BOOTS... that snow is COLD on the tootsies!!! Mom carried me down there, then she put me down on the ground and I started walking around.
I quickly discovered there was no snow under Mom's chair, so I went under that, but... there was a problem. There was lots of stuff on that ground...grass, leaves, twigs, some pine cones and even some chickie poops!!!! I am a puppy...puppies learn with their mouths, so everything went into my mouth, BOL!
Next I discovered all the other dogs were over in the middle of the field... I rushed over there as fast as I could run thru that white stuff... I kept slipping and once I even fell head first right into it. BRRRRRRR.
Meanwhile, Mom was calling me, but, I gotta tell you, us Frenchies are DEAF when it comes to listening to people calling us, hehehe. I just kept trotting along, didn't even wiggle one ear to let Mom know I heard her. She said I reminded her of Grampy Lukie!!!
Finally, I WAS cold so I came back to Mom and she held me the rest of the time. She took a whole bunch of photos, BUT...Dogster is broken so she can't put them on until it gets fixed.
Mom and Julia took Toto to his favorite store, Tractor Supply, when Mom took Julia home. Mom forgot that I am now vaccinated with my second vaccine and I could have gone with them, darn it all!!! Mom said maybe next weekend when we get the chickie food. I can't wait!

Well, Mommy Lola went along back to her new home yesterday. So, Mom decided to do a little work on MY pen in the house. First of all, she had to change the expen cuz the one I had was too high and when she bent over to give me my dinner it would hit her right in the ribs. Matter of fact, she actually slipped while bending over it a few weeks ago and BROKE her rib!!!
So, since she was changing the whole pen she decided I needed more room. She got me a smaller crate half and put a smaller rug in it, and she stretched the expen out so it was much bigger. NICE!
Well, it is really, really cold here right now and I am still little and have very short hair. That much smaller bed didn't leave me ANY ROOM for snuggle blankets and I was COLD! I was especially cold this morning because our furnace was broken...imagine that, NO furnace and 9 degrees outside with a cold, blowing wind. BRRRRR.
Fortunately, Julie came along to work at the kennel so Mom had her take me over there cuz it was warm there. Whew!
Anyway, as I was lying in my bed this evening, shivering and shaking, Mom decided it would NEVER do! Sooo, she took the nice, soft, squishy, fleecy, well padded, bolstered back bed away from Toto and Beanie and gave it to me. Then, she found a big, soft, fleecy blanket and tossed it in the bed for me to burrow into. Finally, she found an old shirt of Beanies and put that on me.
I am so toasty warm now I may NEVER get out of bed to play in that big, big expen!

Today Mom and Tonya must not have had enough to do. While we were in the break room, Tonya said I smelled like a puppy (HELLO, I AM a puppy!) so Mom said she could give me a bath.
I immediately ran to hide, but that mean Toto showed them where I was! Grrr. Tonya brought me into the bathing room and put a big leash around my neck. While she was warming up the water, I was exploring...did you know they had a little screen thingie so I wouldn't get sucked down the drain. HEY, I am small, but I checked it out and my head is way, way bigger than the drain hole so I took the screen out and chewed on it, hehehe.
Next, she squirted water ALL OVER ME. I wasn't so much liking that part, but, to make it even worse, she then put bubbly stuff all over me, too. I sniffed it and it made me sneeze!!!
After the bubbly stuff, she put that water all over me again and again. Now, why in the world did she bother with the bubbly stuff if she was just going to rinse it all off????
Mom was talking about Great Grampa Jones becoming a basketball in the bath tub...I tried doing that but they only laughed at me and kept rinsing!
Then, Tonya wrapped me up in a HUGE, soft towel and took me out to Mom's grooming table. She asked Mom about the force dryer... FORCE dryer??? That doesn't even sound good!!! Fortunately, Mom said no so she used the little people dryer. It was okay, kind of noisy, but it was nice, warm air and she was rubbing me with the towel, which felt nice, too.
Finally, they decided I was done and put me down. Mom and Tonya went out to the computer to preview the photos Mom took during my bath and Tonya gave me my lunch.
When I was done eating I was still cold so I went exploring to find a nice, warm place to nap. They weren't watching me at all, only laughing at my photos, so I headed into the laundry room and found that Sarah had JUST taken a load of towels out of the dryer and tossed them on the floor so she could preview my photos, too. I snuggled right into those towels and completely disappeared!!!
Next thing I knew, Mom and Tonya and Sarah were looking for me. They searched EVERYWHERE...twice Tonya walked RIGHT BY ME and didn't even see me. Finally, getting desperate, Mom decided to let mommy Lola out in hopes SHE would find me.
She was racing all around and running back and forth all over the whole kennel and she actually STEPPED right on me. I was squirming around in my towels, and...Mom saw the towel moving, hehehe, and she found me!! Mom and Tonya both said I must be very, very smart to find those warm towels!!
Yup, I am very, very smart, glad they finally realized that!
Check out my bath photos!!!

Well, so far, my visit with mommy Lola is going very well. In fact, Mom has already decided that I can now go out with the other house dogs, at least when she is watching me! While Mom types this, I am actually out playing with Ali and Toto. Ali does growl at me, but I have learned to run fast the other way when she does that!
At work I stay in my pen with mommy Lola. When the girls have their breaks, I usually go with them WITHOUT mommy Lola cuz she won't stay in the break room. Come to think of it, I don't stay in there anymore, either! I much prefer to race around and check out the daycare dogs or the cats.
Mom and the girls are always laughing at me. They even sometimes call me a weeble. For those of you who don't remember or aren't old enough, weebles wobble but they won't fall down!!!
Let me defend myself here...I don't wobble, I just have a mind like a steel trap and it works so fast that my body can't keep up with it. For example, I am racing over to see the gray kitty. Along the way, I spy a piece of paper on the floor so I must grab it. Mind you, I am racing at ninety miles per hour and my head is heavier than my body so, shall I say, it isn't very athletic, hehehe!
Because I am so inquisitive, I must check out EVERYTHING, no matter where I am going or why I am going there. Sometimes, my steel trap mind changes its mind while all four feet are in the air...now, that is really very interesting to see. Not very pretty, but interesting, at least!!!
Mom is always saying laughter makes you healthy. Well, MY JOB is to provide that laughter, BOL!

I was sooo happy yesterday when Mom let me out of my little pen and there was my mommy Lola!!! She kissed me, I kissed her and we played and played and even did some snuggling. I have missed her soooo much!!!
Mom is very happy, first of all, she is happy that I can now get some learning from mommy Lola without upsetting her because she can't nurse me since she is now all dried up. She is especially happy that Mommy Lola is going to teach me about biting hard and growling and that stuff, stuff which Mom can't really teach me. Mom doesn't trust the toy poodles to teach me that stuff, they growl too much and sometimes try to snap at me, too.
Mom says once mommy Lola teaches me about that stuff I can play with them and know enough to stop BEFORE I get hurt. OKAY...
The other reason Mom is so happy is that she has thought I was way, way too small for my age. Well, she and mommy's new Mom searched thru a bunch of old photos and found some of mommy Lola when she was exactly MY age. Guess what??? She was exactly MY size, too!!! Guess I am normal!
Today I was normal and scared the pants off Mom. I was out with mommy and we were playing thru the kitchen and the living room. Mom wasn't really watching us, she was doing laundry and stuff.
Suddenly, she realized that mommy Lola was sleeping in the dog bed and I was no where to be found. Mom searched and searched and searched. When she really got scared and started searching the Summer Kitchen (where the clothes dryer is), she was SURE she heard me whine. It is FREEZING out there AND there is lots of stuff all over and she couldn't find me anywhere.
She came back into the house and got a flashlight and searched everywhere again, and again, and again. Now, she was FRANTIC!
Suddenly, she noticed that Paisley, the cat, was standing over in the corner of the kitchen, staring at the wall. Mom went over there, just in time to see me crawling out from under the cupboard!
You see, there is a heat register that goes part way under that cupboard and I discovered it was really, really warm under there so I decided to take a nice nap. Of course, I am a Frenchie so I didn't come when she called me, BOL!
Mom said she should have thought about it better...ALL the kittens used to go under there especially when the furnace was running and she should have checked there first before all the panic! Oh well, I heard panic burns calories????

Mom has been bemoaning the fact that I have no friends, dog friends, that is. I am still too small for the silly poodles to play with, and Paisley the cat is terrified of me. Dijon, her brother, wants to play, but even he gets too nervous and runs away.
Mom said my mother is one of those dogs who will play with ANY dog. She can be rough when she needs to be, like with Quincy, but she can also be gentle when she has to be.
And, she IS my mother and probably hasn't forgotten that yet. Mom said some of those instincts will still be there, she hopes.
Anyway, tomorrow mommy Lola is coming down for a visit. If it goes well, she may stay here for a while so I can play with her and learn my doggy ways.
Mom says it is really time, I can be quite obstinate when I need to be, after all, Lukie was my grampy, hehehe! And, mommy Lola certainly has a mind of her own, too. Oh yeah, then there is Darrell who is my daddy. He is most famous for escaping from almost ANY chain link fence, BOL!
Soo, I have the genes to be BAD. Imagine if I never learn how to be a dog, hehehe. I will have quite a reputation!!!

Mom said she didn't know she was going to get a Frenchie for Christmas this year, but, surprise, here I am, hehehe! Today I turned 8 weeks old and I am now a BIG BOY!
Julia was at work today and she helped me take some big boy photos. First she tried to pose me on the shelf where she puts the cats and the toy poodles. Yeah, right, no way, no how was I staying on that shelf and Mom threatened her with her life if I fell off and broke, so she decided to put me on the floor for my photos.
Mom said she really got some cute ones, better check them out! First, I was running along and I discovered another Frenchie puppy that looked JUST LIKE ME! He was also running along and kept touching noses with me. After a bit, I realized he was a very strange puppy cuz he felt like smooth metal when I sniffed him, AND he didn't even smell like a puppy, either!
Sooo, bored with that, I then discovered Rascal, the big, fat cat that is at work. Rascal came in even fatter and Mom said he couldn't lose any weight as long as he was sitting in a cage, eating and sleeping. So, she let him out and, it turns out, he is a PERFECT store cat. He loves everyone and even loves the dogs that come in and best of all, he doesn't open the food bags like the other cats did.
He tries to catch the birds in there but, because he is so fat he can't jump up high enough to reach their cages, hehehe!
Anyway, I spied him so I decided to chase him. First, he stood his ground and I must admit, my heart started beating a bit faster cuz I thought he might chase ME instead of the other way around. But, I gave a little "woof", and scarded him and away he went. FUN!!! And, Julia was right there and caught it all on film. (Well, on the camera card, hehehe!)
Mom was laughing so hard when she saw those photos that she got the hiccups, BOL!
Anyway, she put them on my page, check them out!!

I HATE weekends!!! First of all, Mom leaves me home alone because she only works a half day. Soo, that is really boring. Then, she is always busy and doesn't pay ANY attention to me, well, almost no attention to me.
Today I was so bored I took my pee pad and dragged it over to my water dish and stuffed it in. Worked pretty darn good, it sucked ALL the water up and then Mom had to come along and get me fresh water, hehehe! She couldn't do that without giving me some pats, BOL!
Tonight was slightly more interesting. Mom decided to finally play with me a bit. After I bit all her fingers and made them bleed, she decided I needed to get down and run around the house.
Okay, I can do that! Problem was, those silly cats, Dijon and Paisley, still think I am something wild like a squirrel or maybe even a rat. Dijon just follows along behind me, but I was after Paisley and she was SCARED of me, BOL! She got this panicked look on her face and ran all thru the kitchen, with me in hot pursuit.
I would have gotten her IF she hadn't led me right thru the water dish! We have one of those drinkwell fountains and I never saw it before so I raced right over it. Who knew there was all that water pouring out of the top???
Finally, Momsie came along and rescued Paisley and dried off my feet and my head and put me back in my pen. Good thing cuz I am now exhausted!!! I took Toto's antler and now I am chewing on that for a while.
HEY, good news... finally my nose has stopped being stuffy and Mom hasn't had to wipe it for TWO whole days! Good thing that vet didn't give me any more antibiotics... I guess I really didn't need them!!!
Mom says she is totally shocked at how fast I am growing now. She gives me these little Stella & Chewy's raw patties. At the beginning of the week, she had worked me up to a half of one, three times a day. I grew and grew and grew and yesterday and today she had to give me a WHOLE ONE three times a day.
My head has grown so much that my eyes actually fit now and the whites don't show anymore. That surprised Mom cuz when my nephew Louie was a baby the whites of his showed for months and months. My mommy Lola was pretty small, but Mom says I am ALMOST as big as she was when she came here.
Mom says I look like my daddy Darrell more than my mommy. And, like him, I have PLENTY of brindling. Now, he is a BIG BOY and has a huge head. Maybe there is hope for me being a show dog after all????
