Since we got the new fambly truckster in Joon, it were only right that our furst big vacayshun as a fambly togethfur, be a ROAD TRIP!!!!
Oh BOY! It were the best time evfur.
Beanie was born to wander. He is nevfur happier than when he's hitting the open road. So he were in heaven. So much to see. So much to do.
Bacon...well, I don't like deeveeayshuns from rooteens. Loud noises scare the bejeepers out of me. I do not like windows opening on highways, or windshield wipers. Or sun roofs. So I took a lot of dramameans and I did a lot of shaking, on the driving porshuns. I liked the slow driving on winding roads on the Needles Highway, and in the Custer National Park Wildlife Loop.
Bakey LOVED hiking in the Spearfish Canyon Forest, where Brofur Beanie (aka Tiny Satan) got to swim in the Devil's Bathtub. Brrrrr...that mountain water are cold. But Bacon could cross those raging waters and jump from rock to rock, no problem. Mama said my Scottish Ancestors would be so proud of me. Bakey is a true Cairn Terrier.
Beanie saw a drunken bride lady in the parking lot of the Budget Inn in Wall, at midnight on our first night at the Motel 6. He gave her the what for. The things you sees on the vacayshuns. Beanie's a tee-totaler, Mama says.
One of our favoritest things on the vacayshuns were the Buffalo chips. STINK PIES the size of Beanie! DEEEEELITEFUL.
Beanie got into a lot of fights in South Dakota. He thinks he's Beanie the Kid, toughest bandit in the Badlands. Furst he tried to pull outta his collar to go exploring in those enormous canyons by himself, then he wore a harness for the rest of the vacayshun. Then he picked fights with sevfural prairie dogs. And one time he went nose-to-nose with a BUFFALO. All 15 pounds of him. Until the Buffalo backed down.
One time, our truckster was completely surrounded with Buffalos, in a slow-moving sunset stampede, and Mama stood up out the sunroof and took photos of them.
Mama was giving all our treats away to chippermonks and burrito dogs. You know the kind that saw heehaw? We saw Antelopes, deerses, curly-horned goatses, mountain sheeps, you name it.
We stayed in lots of motels for dogs. Only one was really stinky, and Mama and Papa had to sleep with their headses under the pillows.
One day we went to a doggie park without a fence where the grass was taller than Beanie and you could run as far as your little legs could take you. It were a beautiful thing. Bacon collected lots of new ticks for him's collecshun.
It were the best vacayshun evfur. OMD! We posted lots of photos for you to see. Hope your summers are all going fantabulous too, pals. Mama has been really busy doing work stuff. She is working on our furriends George & Bella's Dogster pages, too. You should check them out!!!
Also, who sended us the Golden Bone? We are thinking...is it Zoe from Heidi HO?
What a great vacation you had! Growlmy loved the pictures, too!
And I would have loved to check all those neato things out too...esp the buffalo chips, BOL!
In Ontario, there are some badlands, too...but ours are all red, the area is known as Terra Cotta...aka red earth...
I think the ones you saw are WAY bigger and badder!
Glad you are all safely back...time to sleep long times to catch up on your zzzz's after all that traveling times.
OMD, Freckles. We didn't know you had Badlands, too. Mama & Papa are already talking about taking us on another trip. Up to Canadia. Mama was to see some Moose on Loose.
Oh, B&B, you're making Mama jealous. Western SD was one of her favorite spots to vacation! The pawrents have been there several times. Isn't it a heavenly place? Did you stay in those cabins that are on the Indian Reservation in the Badlands? Mama always loved staying there when they went. Your pictures and diary brought up so many happy memories. :)
That's pawesome, Rosco. Our Mama had nevfur been. So she couldn't believe we live so close to such a magical place. This was a spur of the moment vacayshun, so we just stayed at Dog-Furriendly places. Next time we'll plan and rent a cabin in the black hills. We like shade. Not enuff shade in the Badlands.
Also, Devil's Tower in Wyoming??? NO DOG'S ALLOWED. BOOOOOOOOO! That was disappointing. How come there aren't more dog furriendly places for road trippers. Mama was appalled.
p.s. This is the furst vacayshun Mama & Papa have taken togethfur in two and a half years. BOL. We're so spoiled. She doesn't want us to go to boarding and she can't find a sitter she trusts.
Absolutely BRILLIANT time on the hols.. and LOVED the pictures !! The driving one made Mum spill coffee laughing !.
Glad it was a wonderful fun time !!!!
My uncle lives i the columbian of Brith=ish type in the west of the Canadia...and he has a place in a desrt area of that province, called Osooyus, or something like that,BOL! Anyfurs there are mooses and gooses and goatses and other creatures beyond belief there, just sauntering along the roads, better be carefur if you go there, you do NOT want to hit one of them dudes with your Beesun Bros vehicle...them are way bigger than a deer, and we don't want to crash one of them either, BOL!
Its hot there a lot...sometimes 40 Celsius...OMD! Normal body temp fur a human is 37 Celsius...
Oops! I think growlmy is tired...she can't seem to sell too well...BOL!
That sounds like a pawsome road trip, Boys!! We love road trips, but it can be hard to find dog-friendly destinations. There's a new book coming out with lots of good info. Hope this link works!

Mama checked out that book, Hershey! It's pawesome. What a cool story about the pauthor, too. We are going to get a copy for sure! Thanks for sharing.
That was a wonderfur trip. I would love to do a road trip but Mum and my first Mom aren't taking a vacation this year. They had talked about going to the shore (Atlantic Ocean) with us fur at least a day but that hasn't happened yet either. We think it's just great you got a whole long family vacation.
What a great vacation!!
We love your photos. Sounds like you all had a great road trip. I love road trips. Dad is on a road trip right now and I'm not happy that he's gone without me.
You know what I'm most upset about? If I was on the road trip I'd be meeting you and Beanie. That's right, Dad will be seeing you on Saturday without me and Caileigh.
I've sent presents with him so make sure he gives them to you two.
Make sure Dad doesn't fall overboard when you all are doing zoomies in The Ernie George.
Bark at you soon.
Your pal, Riley
We met your PAPA, RILEY!!!! OMD!
Beanie is gonna steal your Dad. You better look out. We will make Mama post some pictures as soon as she gets settled in at work.
Yesfurday our buddy Doug came ovfur and we played with all the new toys you brought us. Except for the Bobo from Canadia. That is Beanie's. He won't share. BOL!
OMD your vacation sounds PAWSOME! I'd love to take a road trip with mom to do all kinds of outdoorsy stuffs. I'm a nature girl! Woof!
