I never met George. He went to the rainbow bridge in May. Mom was too sad to get a dog for a while afterwards.
Mom was told that I used to live with a homeless man. He was arrested, and I was brought to the SPCA Cincinnati in August 2012.
A month later my new mom took her vacation week off of work. Her plan was to find another canine buddy to live with.
I was meeting some lady in one of the meeting rooms at the SPCA when mom came in. I didn't feel well, so I was hiding under a chair. Mom met a pit bull that had been at the shelter a long time. She was hyper and ignored mom. Mom was going to meet another dog. A volunteer at the shelter saw me still in the meeting room, but the lady that was with me was gone- almost an hour! She asked mom what happened to the lady. Mom didn't know. Mom was looking for a nice black pit bull. (Mom always heard they have the hardest time finding homes)
Mom was happy I was still there. Mom asked if she could meet me. I came out from under the chair. Mom could see I wasn't feeling well. The SPCA vet gave mom some medicine for me.(I had kennel cough and an ear infection) Mom fostered me for a week, then mom adopted me 9/11.
They told mom I am a staffordshire terrier.
Mom thinks I must have lived in a house at some time, because I let her know when I need to go out. I am afraid to bark. She has only heard me bark a few times, and says I cower after I bark. This bothers mom because mom thinks someone was mean to me for barking.
I also have sensitive skin, so my new vet suggested to mom I should eat lamb and rice food. We are going to try it. Mom and dad took me to Banfield in Petsmart. We really our new vet. Mom loves the fact tht they are open on Sundays. I like the fact that I get a toy from the store afterwards :-P
I look forward to meeting all of you!
