Buddy's Beat
My Morning WalkFebruary 9th 2013 5:50 am[ Leave A Comment | 15 people already have ]
Mom and I always go for a morning walk and yesterday was no exception. We live in the country, so mom lets me run free but she always has my leash in her pocket. Yesterday I am happily sniffing and digging in the snow in the ditch when I get my leash suddenly put on me. Mom then proceeds to drag me a short distance from where I had been. Ok she didn't drag me, but she made me move quick!

Nasty pin cushions.. and you do not need to confirm that ! I have nevur seen one of those...and growlmy hopes we nevfur do...unlikely, too, cause they do not frequent our area, thankfurly. We just got coons...mean dudes...and stinky skunks! I've never seen one of those before. Momma says I don't want to. OMD,Buddy! You don't wanna mess with those critters! They are nasty! Treatment for quills,I've heard isn't any FUN! We have them west of the Missouri, but have never seen any on this side of the river. That's as bad as me trying to play with a badger. Those Moms try to keep us furs out of trouble. We have to listen, when they are so insistent about changing directions. hugs and kisses, mazy I ran quickly to the shelter belt this morning and then mom saw what I was running towards. She quickly slapped on my leash and took me back to the house. She got the camera and took a picture of my pet porcupine. Mom just uploaded it to my page! Buddy stay 'way from da 'Ouch-Beast'! They's borned wif a coat made of spears! Mommy has heard dat they can shoot spears outta they's bodies...are dat true? Glad you listened to your mom. Ebony, you have to directly touch the porcupine to get the quills, they cannot "shoot" quills. That is an old wives tale. Mom used to work with wildlife people and they laughed at her when she asked that question. Angel Abby had two encounters with porcupines and the last required a late night trip to the vet and surgery the next morning. It was very painful for her and the vet figured she had over 100 quills removed. One of mommy's friends said her dog got sprayed with the quills, but knowing that dog he tried to attack the porcupine. YIKES! Stay way fwum pwickwy guys wike dat, lil' Buddy!! Dat wood hurt SO much :( We have never seen one of those. Sounds like we don't want to either. Be careful! Buddy, listen to your mommy! I don't think we have those pricklish things around here, just skunks and raccoons. Mommy says they're not fur playing with, or even fur barking at! Condogulations on your DDP!!! |
