Arrival Story: My partner and I got Izzy when she was just over eight weeks old. She was one of two puppies left in the litter. You could say she was the runt of the group. She wanted nothing to do with us at first, and it was because of this shy personality that we picked her. She hid under the couch for the first few days, and slept under our bed for months. After time passed, what was once a shy little sack of wrinkles became the highlight of my day. I could always count on an overly excited greeting and lots of wet kisses. She was also my cuddle buddy at night. Nobody slept closer to Dad than her.
Izzy was diagnosed with Mast Cell Cancer (MCT) in June of 2012. After a major surgery and lots of medicine, it came back with a vengeance. With lots of love in our hearts and respect for her life, we made the choice she couldn't. We said goodbye to our sweet girl on August 7th, 2012.
We miss our Izzaboo so much. Not a day will go by that I won't think of her.
