Arrival Story:
I adopted Lucky 6 days ago. He came to California by way of Alabama and Texas. I went to the shelter with a friend who was looking for a dog. She did not find one but I spotted Lucky in a cage, looking as scared as a dog could be. I asked to talk with him and as he would not come out, I went in. I already have two dogs and did not really want another. I went home and thought and thought and thought about him and went back to the shelter and got him. He is a very sweet but very frightened doggy. He does not appear to have had any obedience training. I don't think he lived in a house before as many things are new and exciting for him, like a tv set and a full length mirror. He has access to the fully fenced yard but does not feel comfortable going out there. He walks well on a leash and seems to really enjoy treks through the woods. I think he will be a wonderful pet once he realizes he has a good home.

Lucky is 7 years old and came from Smiling Dog Farms in Texas. They got him from a shelter somewhere in Alabama. He came to my local shelter with 5 other adoptable dogs. No other information on him is available.
