Arrival Story:
I fostered puppies and my last 2 was Baby and an American Bulldog/Pitbull mix. I chose to adopt baby, after the other was adopted. Baby was rescued from a farm with her 3 other siblings (all female) and Baby is the largest. All the dogs rescued from this farm, they were abused. When I got baby to foster, she was terrified; wouldn't walk on a leash, come up to you or anywhere near you, she hid behind the other dog, she had knots and open ones on the top of her head. She also had a hearing problem from it, but is about 75% healed from it. I adopted her when she was 6 months. I couldn't bear to see her go, and it would have taken a log time for another family to get used to. She doesn't like men, and especially colored men (she barks at them upon seeing them and doesn't with white men, I'm not being racist, they were the race that abused her), she isn't good with kids under 10 either. But since she's been with me, she warms up to people within a month of constant interaction with the other person, she gives hugs, sits, lays down, gives high fives, and speaks. She's very happy now.
