Surviving Sandy

My mommy wants to write to you today; she says we kept her calm and sane through the storm.

People who minimize the impact pets have on one's health, have probably not weathered any storm with pets. My dogs and cat kept me grounded and sane. After a few days of utter darkness, cold, and shear boredom, the blues started to take root. My dogs snuggled with me; they forced me to get up and go outside for walks.

This morning, electric was restored, and we are still awaiting heat, but my demonstrated shear joy. The barked, rolled around the bed, ran in circles, licked family members, and played with one another. They demonstrated happiness and joy - showing emotions.

Loving my pets.

What would we do without them?

Glad you are slowly getting your life back in place.

Good to hear the power is back! We had a dark 18 hours but that is nothing compared to the thousands who have gone nearly a week without light, heat and a warm meal. During our short powerless time both boys kept right next to me and entertained me with games of tennis ball and chase. Can't imagine life without them. I'm letting Mum bark today!
