Munching with My Family

My mom noticed a few weeks ago that I was taking my food into the living room to eat. Well, THEY always do it. I don't know why I shouldn't either. She finally put my bowl in the living room this morning so I don't have to keep running into the kitchen for another bite. It's about time! I still don't see why that's so funny though. People sure can be silly.

A Whole New World

I've got to tell you guys about truck rides. If you haven't been on one, you've got to try it. Yesterday, my people took me on my first ride in the truck without my kennel. At first, I thought for sure that they were taking me to get another shot. I was pretty nervous. Then I felt the wind in my face and watched the world pass by us. My tail was waggin' a mile a minute. It dawned on me that my family had been leaving me home alone and taking fun trips in the truck without me! I WAS missing out. I knew it! But since I behaved, mom said that they would take me more often. Yippee!

I'm a Star

Today I looked at my page and found out that I am the Diary of the Day! Wow! I'm famous!

I have so much to share. I went on my first walk the other day. My mom and sister tricked me. I refused to move until they started shoving bits of delicious pork chops on my nose. They sure are sneaky! Before I knew it, they had walked me around 2 blocks. By the end of the walk, I was enjoying it so much that I didn't notice the pork chop bits stopped coming.

If there's one thing I don't like are all those loud cars passing by. I'm starting to get used to them a little, but they are pretty scary.

Yesterday, we got to go the park and walk the track for the first time. My mom and sister stopped to swing in the playground and tied me up next to them. "Why do they get to have all the fun?" I thought, so I whimpered at them to let them know I wanted to join in. My mom picked me up and set me on her lap. I loved how the wind blew my fluffy hair on my head back and forth. Swinging is awesome! I was so worn out, I had trouble walking home. As soon as I got inside, I dropped on my blanket and fell asleep. Dreams of parks, dogs, and tennis balls filled my head.

Today we get to walk to a library. I'm not sure what that is, but I can't wait to go.

I ain't Uglies!

I came to my new home cute and fluffy. I played, I ate, and I grew. Over the weeks, my new momma started noticing that my fur was falling out. She said that I'd be getting my adult coat, but then she called be Uglies. Someone told her that I am in a Puppy Uglies stage just because all of my top coat fell off my body. My uncle called me Gizmo because I still have a fluffy head. She tried to reassure me that the coat would grow back, but she still calls me Uglies. Look at this face. It's not Uglies, it's Adorable! See! (Tilts head left, then right, then left again.)

A New Pup

It turns out I had a yeast infection in my right ear. It's all gone now thanks to my mom diligently cleaning it.

I've been learning a lot of new words and am making my family proud. I love to hear them say "Good Boy!" When they eat, I eat my meal then sit at their feet to wait for them to finish. I know how to tell them I need to go outside to use the yard now, too!

It's a dogs life around here. Sunday, I get my last series of shots. Then, I can start going on walks. I don't think I'm gonna like this leash thing though. When they put it on me, I just plop down and refuse to move. I wish they'd just let me run where I want. They keep talking about how they're going to train me to walk with them soon. I don't think they know how stubborn I can be. I don't think they'd like it if I put a leash around them and asked them to follow me around.

Itchy Ears

My ears are finally starting to feel better. They've been terribly itchy lately. I hate my ears being looked at. Mom said that she has to check my ears every day, but I don't like it!

I'm sure loving my family. I miss my mom and siblings, but my family makes me feel very loved.

Next week I have to get my second set of shots. I'm not looking forward to those. It isn't easy being a puppy. But I sure am cute!
