Arrival Story:
Daisy was a stray at the shelter I volunteer at and she was adopted then returned. A worker at the town's Health Dept. took her in to foster, but Daisy was terrified of the woman's husband (it was thought she was afraid of all men) and there was another dog at the shelter that had caught the heart of the Health Dept. worker. I finagled it so my family and I could foster Daisy so the woman could take the other dog. At my home there were already 4 other dogs, mine was a greyhound who usually took her time to warm up to other dogs, but she instantly loved Daisy and sadly, just hours after we finally adopted Daisy, my greyhound, Eedie, died.

Bio:
Daisy was probably abused by someone in her past, but she has come such an incredible way since we took her in. She HATES the stomping of feet, I think she had been kicked by a previous owner. She had also sometime had puppies, by C-section per her scar. She rules the roost at home and has gotten into tiffs with her younger sister, Fiona, a rottie mix 3 to 4 times her size! Daisy has a column in the shelter's newsletter.

A barrel of pudge

Mommy is upset at me because I got into the garbage twice in les sthan 24 hours. She admits that she was silly the first time and should have made it harder for me to get into it, but she said I should have known better the second time. I am so ROUND now, I waddle when I walk. And, I have been doing my business more often! I wonder why...
Silly mommy forgets that I like to climb and get into things. She forgot that I used to jump up onto grandma's bed, walk across her nightstand and then onto her desk to snuffle around and find that hidden chocolate egg. I can't help it! My nose and stomach tell me to!
It's been a day since I got into the garbage and I am less fat now. But, mommy says that I still need to slim down some more before I am better. She also says that Coco, my brother, has put on a pound or two. Daddy said something about warm weather and hiking. I think I'm happy it's still cold and wet out...

Those fuzzy thing in that cage

What a day I had yesterday! While daddy was working on his computer, I joined him in the computer/animal room. I entertained myself by barking and barking and barking away at those fuzzy things in the cage on the floor. Those fuzzy things squeak and it gets me even more excited! When I got tired of barking at them, I curled up on a blanket on the floor and stared at them. I couldn't help whining, especially when one of them came up to me and sniffed me through the cage. Mommy says they're not really scared of me, but I think they are! The other fuzzy things, the ones that look like weasels, they are not scared of me, I know that, but these round fuzzy things sometimes run and hide when I bark. Makes me so proud of myself. Mommy wants to get me and my adopted brother Coco into doing Earthdog Trials. Sounds interesting, especially if I get to bark at more fuzzy things!
