Greenies bad for dogs??

Yesterday, I read an article about Greenies being bad for dogs. The article stated that five dogs had died from the consumption of these treats. It further stated that they did a test on the product by putting it in water overnight to see what would happen. The article said the Greenie broke apart into pieces that were highly expanded and looked a lot like carpet padding. Not one to believe everything I read, I decided to do the test myself. My test has been in progress for just shy of an hour and I have three progress pictures posted. You can see those pictures by going to my website www.northcountydogtraining.net and clicking on 'check out the Greenie test'.

OMD! Glad I'm not a 'greenie' dog. Mom never did like them for me.

Congratulations on being a DDP!

The Greenies didn't do what the person said they did. There was extremely little expansion of the product When I broke it down with my fingers, it came apart easily enough in the water. The whole conclusion and a video of the final bit is on my site.

I love my Greenies, and so does my brother Ringo. And I love hearing the vet talk about my amazing "puppy teeth"... I'm 10 years old!

There were some concerns (which seem to have been highly exxaggerated) over the original Greenie formulation several years ago, but the product was changed to make it more easily break down even if not effectively chewed.

My parents have no worries, and as I said, I love my Greenies!
