On New Year's Eve 2009, I found the best family in the whole world. I was 7 months old and needed a new mummy and daddy. My new Aunty bathed and brushed me to make me even more beautiful for when my new family came to collect me.
I was very scared and timid and not at all keen on going in the car for the long drive to my new home. But my new mummy sat in the back seat with me for the trip and patted and talked softly to me all the way. I had never been inside a house before so I was very confused about a bed inside. I found that hiding behind a palm tree or rocks in the garden was probably the safest place.
My new family sat in the yard with me for hours talking to me and trying to tempt me with treats. It took a couple of weeks before I was happy to sleep inside, I have a really comfy bed in the family room.
