Mom and I are training for a workshop on Sunday. We need to practice, basic obedience and tug. We also need to walk by some dogs I don't know so I can practice my "watch" command, instead of becoming reactive on leash. Once I watch Mom, she gives me a delicious treat. I really need to learn this so I can take group classes with other dogs and not freak out on leash. I'm a busy Kira these days.

You'll do great. Be patient and it'll all work out.
Thanks for your support Riley We will take our time and have fun. Mom thinks I must have been pretty isolated as a puppy. Now I'm being introduced to sights, sounds and smells that are all new to me. It's like sensory overload at times. What do you do for exercise?
Hab wotza fun an' du yur bestest, Kira! Dat r all yu need du, sweet gurl ♥
I am just like you, Kira, I am leash reactive too, and me and Mommy do the same training like you! Aren't weenies and cheese delicious treats?
Mom and I have been working on my leash reactivity - a lot. I'm pretty calm now, except when I see a barky little dog that's running around. Then I see a snack opportunity. Mom uses the ball or food to redirect my interest. I do love those weenies and stinky cheese treats.
I do that with barky dogs too! I am fine if the dog is not barky, and in those cases I want to meet and greet the dog and make a new friend. But if the dog barks at me, I return fire! And then I NEVER forget that that dog barked at me and I bark at that dog even time I see it in the future!
I also have a strong tendency to bark at small white dogs. It's something I've always done with Mommy and she doesn't know why... and I'm not telling!
