Daddy took me and Hershey to Fort Fun when he got home from work! Here's what we do: He comes in and we all say "Hi! Wag! Wiggle! Jump!" fur a bit. Then he changes his clothes and we get in the car (mommy stays home to fix his din-din). We drive just a little bit, out to the edge of the world where the ocean starts. There are all kinds of trails there, and lots of doggies! Hershey gets to run around off-leash, not that he evfur goes furry far from daddy. There are trees to sniff and pee on, and some places are sandy, and did I mention there are lots and lots of doggies? It's pawsome. I have to be on my leash, but daddy's a fast walker and we go all the way from the car to t-h-e-r-e and then up t-h-e-r-e and then all the way back to the car again! Then we usually go back home and I go night-night.
Only this time when we got back to the car, daddy acted really funny. He went "Oh man!" And he went "You've got to be kidding me!!" And he kept sticking his hands in his pockets and kind of growling. He called mommy on his little talky box. And then he decided we hadn't had enough fun, so we went back out and did our whole walk ALL OVFUR AGAIN!! Daddy must have felt kind of doggy, too! He was looking really close at the trail. I think he almost wanted to get down and sniff!!
When we got back to the car, we didn't get in. We just kind of stood there. Daddy would talk to some people and then they would leave, but we stayed. It was starting to get dark. But then a car pulled up and mommy got out, and then we all got into our car and went home! Now I'm double-tired!
[ed. note: Daddy had put on a pair of shorts with a hole in the pocket, and his car keys are now somewhere on the 2+ miles of trails at Fort Funston. He did not find them on the second walk. Mommy had to call a taxi to take her and HER car keys to the rescue. Daddy is now forbidden from wearing holey pockets out the front door!]
UPDATE 8/27: Daddy found his key tonight on the Lost and Found peg! Praise the Lord!!
oh that stinks, but you got two walks out of that
Daddy's misfortune turned into extra fun for you and Hershey! I bet you two were very tired that night. Poor daddy and mommy! Once that happened to my mom, only it involved dropping car keys over a boat and into a lake! Yes a taxi had to be called to take mom home to get keys and back to the lake with them so they could get the boat out of the water!
Oh No! Those keys are real important to the peepoles.
But you had sum double fun! And that is good!
BOL - well it is kind of funny when you think about it. Maybe not for daddy and momma but for relaying what happened. Perhaps daddy needs one of those cloth loops that you connect your keys to and then wear it around your neck.
Do you think daddy will be taking you for another walk tonight.
Maybe Bailey's momma could use one of those neck loop key holdy things too - BOL, BOL
Poor Winkie's daddy and poor Bailey's mom! That is always one of mom's fears that she will lose the keys. At least you got two walks Winkie and that is good.
dats a funny story, winkie! BOL!! I bet you & Hershey was two pooped out pups when you got home, but you had DOUBLE da fun!
mommie locked her keys in da car once, wif it running! plus her couldn't get back in da house! good thing her had her little phone. her had to waits fur someone to come & help her.
it was winter & freezing out.. mommie is extra careful now!
have a great day Winkie! tell Hershey I say HI!
hugs to you boths!
I bet if we had a confursional here, most of us could tell tails about keys...I know growlmy sure can, BOL!
Keys locked in while its running...yup, she did that too, only some wise peep told her to always keep a spare in her wallet...so she was able to rescue herself. (The car was locked and running for about 45 minutes while she and my Grand-growlmy were shopping!)
Once she took boss-boy and unfurbro out of their car seats, and went to the grocery store...and when she got back...no keys...and no spare key in the diaper bag, OMD! She could see the keys on the front seat where she had put them...BOL! So pawppy had to come to her rescue, from his offurce...um he wasn't too happy!
Another time, right at the back door, she um...dropped the key and it fell...right into the space under the porch/deck to the back door...and no way was she going to be able to retrieve it. Yikes! Well back then the neighbor had a key, to help her when needed with the kitties who also live here...so that was easy, but she still had to get a new set of keys.
Glad you had the fun times out of that trouble with your Daddy's keys. Always remember to check the pockets fur system failures, BOL!
BOL, pals! Now daddy has mommy's keys. He doesn't plan to replace his because he says it costs a million zealies or something. (It's the second time he's done this!) She has a carabiner on hers, and she made him hook it to his belt loop befure he left this morning!
Mabbe yur Mommy otta pin da keys tu hims shirt, Winkie!!
I do think.... a second set of keys cost less than a smashed window to replace(when he loses the 2nd set and thats the only way to get into the car...or there is a call out fee.........) ....Just my thoughts... and YES... they need to be chained to his belt !
BOL, Flicka! The last time this happened it cost ovfur $300 to replace the lost key & get it (and the spare) reprogrammed. You have to do both keys, because the programming changes. Daddy wouldn't break a window, he'd get the car towed to a dealer.
Glad you got extra walkies!
When I was a wee pup, about 15 weeks old, the ma shut her trunk and realized the keys were in there. But she wasn't worried because the car doors were not (she thought) locked. Only when she went to open a door she realized her car, which is too smart for its own good, had locked itself. She was in her office parkin' lot so it wouldn't have been a big deal, except that she hadn't taken me out to go up with her yet. So I was locked in!! Boy, we were both glad when the tow truck guy came and saved me!
BOL, Pepper! My mommy locked a dog in a car one time, too, and had to call her auto club. When the guy got there he was afraid to open the car until mommy assured him that the dog (a Brittany) wouldn't bite!
