I do. Some days not at all, and some days just a nibble. But some days I NEED to go out and eat grass, and I need to do it RIGHT NOW!! I cough, I gag, I whine and howl, I pace! When mommy or daddy FINALLY get my leash on and open the door, I FLY out there and dive into the grass up to my topknot. Then I chompchompchompchompchompchompchompchomp!! And we move on down the street and I chompchompchompchompchomp some more, and so we go, all the way around the block. Daddy makes me "C'mon, Winkie!" Mommy looks at her watch. Hershey (who comes along because he will NOT be left behind!), just sits there and watches the neighborhood.
*gasp* Are you a sheep in Cocker fur? Bol. We all eat grass too. And yep, we usually urka gurka it back up later. Hmm, maybe when you go to the Wag Hotel you can take your own little square of turf. I'm sure the peepoles there would be happy to water it and you could keep it mowed. ;-) Hmmmm...Dis r a tuff one, Winkie. I r on a weash wheneber I go out tu 'pwibacy, pweeze', tu. If I r nod feewin' well I will eat gwass an' I wood pwobabwy stay out dere an' eat it fur hours if dem wet me. Da bet sez :"Do not let him eat grass!!!" cuz hur r wurried 'bout germs an' biruses an' uber icky junk dat can be on it. Bud stoppin' me fwum eatin' it r ezee-er sed dan dunned, ob course. It makes me du da urka-gurka, tu, an' den I feel bedder, so it r kind ob one ob dose conundwum fings dat make our peepoles heds hurt :D I eat grass. After I Do I toss it up. Dad always tells me as I'm eating it what's to come, but I do it anyway. BOL, Zoe!! Winkie, yu cood take (Bwace yurselb) cat gwass!! My Momma usta buy pots ob gwass fur my big brofur, may him west in peece, Toby da kitty. Mabbe dat wood werk! Pssst! Zaidie! **looks around to make sure no other pups can hear** Where do you get kitty grass? I eat grass too, then I urka gurka. Momma tells me I'm not a cow so I don't need to graze when I does it. Lucas eats sunflowers ! Some dogs(and cats) just DO eat grass. I understand too the difficulty of no garden. I had the Boys in an apartment till a year ago. We used to walk lots... but coming here where they have 2 fenced acres was wonderful ! I eat grass. Not everyday, but some days I just want to eat some grass. I usually throw it up. However, sometimes I don't throw it up and mom sees it dangling if you know what I mean. I eat grass when I have a tummy ache. I don't always puke it up, but sometimes I do. You can buy kitty grass at pet stores! Momma used to buy it at Petco for her guinea pigs!! Maybe your Momma can get some grass seed and plant it in a large flower pot so you can take it with you Winkie! You will have your very own grass to enjoy! A Flat jelly roll pan would probably be better huh? Thanks, everyfur! I'm glad I'm not the only grazer on Dogster, BOL!! We nevfur thought of BYOG (Bring Your Own Grass)! Mommy says she'll look into that fur sure! Winkie! You sound like a little teeny moo-cow with all that grazing! I eat grass too sometimes. Not every day, but sometimes when I'm out I might stop 4 or 5 times and chew some grass. My Nana always says it's to get extra nutrients. Maybe if you hack it all back up it means you had an upset tummy and you needed to throw up to get nasty sick bugs and stuff out of there! OMD, Winkie! I habbed a 'ppointment wif my lawyer (du nod ask :D) dis mornin', so I jus' sawed yur quesshun now! Fizzy answered it, doe! Momma usta buy kitty gwass at pet supply stores an' Wexi's idea r pawsum, tu! I hope it werks fur yu, my fwiend. oh I eat grass too, I think it settles our tummies!! I, too am part cow or maybe related to those goats next door...I munch on grass, and then we have to stop our stroll to let me...um...puke! BOL! Growlmy says I am not a cow so when I do that regurgitating, its not to chew my cud...BOL!!! Some pet stores do sell kitty grass that is already growing in pots, or they also sell little kits that tell yopu how to grow the provided seeds. Commercial seeds may be treated with chemicals, so that would not be good. If you can get oat grass seeds that is the best, but only if they are not treated, ie Organic would be best. Hope that you find something that works! Chew on!! Yeah, dat r it - oat gwass!! Yu so smart, Fweckles :D I always run out to the one corner of the back yard by the house and eat grass. I always have and just love it. Dad has even called me a cow sometimes because of my grazing BOL! OMD, who knew I was hanging out with so many grazers?!! BOL!! Thanks fur all the good ideas! Organic oat grass seeds, huh? Sounds like mommy has homework! BOL!!! yes i eat grass bro especially when my tummy feels bad Winkie.. i am the queen of upset tummys and that is what it sounds to me .. that you have a upset tummy and eating grass helps you get the nasty bug up .. so what is causing the upset tummy.. are you eating to much at one time , to fast, or maybe just developing a dislike in your tummy for the food you are eating?? just a few ideas for mom to think about. It is a terrible feeling to have an upset tummy .. if it continues you can take a pepcid .. it really helped me for a long time .. now i have moved on to Zantac.. but you would have to talk to your vet about how much to give.. mommy gives it to me 20 minutes before a meal.. just a suggestion .. we would suggest starting with a wee bit less to eat at each seating .. and see if that helps first .. keep us posted ! Thanks, Pepe and Buttercuppy! Mommy's keeping a log to show the vet how often I need a grass feast, so he'll have a better idea what's going on. This is nothing new fur me, but mommy wants to get to the bottom of it if we can! |
