Arrival Story:
he was found on the side of a road with his sister at least that was the story. they were given to a person who wasn,t home alot so she offered the male to my son as he was more energetic and spirited then the girl. my son,s wife had two small kids and pregnant and couldn,t train or care for a puppy. they asked me to care for him till the baby was born. i already had two large dogs and really didn,t want another dog to care for ,much less, a small dog. but, i agreed to for a couple months. it ended up being 12 yrs. 4 mo. when my son told his dad he was ready to take him my husband told him he would break my heart if he did. and he would have. he became MY dog from the first day. he was stubborn, spirited, willful and so funny and lovable i adored every trait he had. he loved with every thing in him. he played up til he died. he came when he was good and ready, yet never ran off or strayed far from me. he talked back when you corrected him or pouted from hurt feelings and made me beg forgiveness.and took great pleasure in that fact. to say he had me wrapped around his finger is an understatement. he even had our staffordshire wrapped. he slept on the terrier's back till he was a yr. and a half old, when he wasn,t sleeping on me. he was and is my heart. A SPIRIT THAT COULDN'T BE BROKEN. he wouldn,t be bribed by treats instead he did what you wanted for love and he loved with his whole body and soul. he taught me patience, boy did he teach me that!! he taught me how to guide with a firm but gentle hand,to lead without being controlling to explore new ways of training (because the tried and true ways didn,t work on him). hwas selfish with his toys yet everyone in the house , including the other dogs let him have his way and wouldn,t touch his toys and let him have their's too!! he was spoiled by all and he loved us all with all he had and we knew it. miss you my love, my boy. my heart went over the rainbow bridge sept. 30th 2011
