The whole thing was kind of scarey, oh yes it was. First we went for a long, long ride in the car (yippeeee!), even staying in a hotel one night!- and then we met Auntie Linda. What a wonderfur, beautiful pawson she is, just busting at the seams with love for us. We stayed at Auntie Linda's house for one month, adjusting to our new circumstances, getting plenty of cuddles & attention, and sleeping on Auntie Sabrina's bed every night. We missed our mommy & daddy something arful, but we knew that Mom wouldn't never ever in a million years have left us with Auntie Linda- no matter how pawsome it is there- if she had had any other choice in the world. And the food was furtastic, bol! AND there were tons of other little doggies to play with, so we sure did A LOT of playing.
Then one day out of the blue, our lives changed again! A happy, friendly, kind couple comed to Auntie Linda's with their doggy Petey. Petey had been so sad for a couple of months, 'cause he'd lost his bestest furiend & brofur. Petey is arful sweet, and he's small & white & cuddly like us! All three of thems all played with us for a long long time. Me, Charley, I played with my squeaky-toys with the nice lady (Mama-Beth) - and we falled in love with each other! Me, Max, I didn't mess around... I jumped right up into the nice man's lap (Daddy-Russ) and asked for a belly rub - and WE falled in love with each other!
After a while, Auntie Linda got all our stuff (our collars, our toys, our doggy-beds and special treats and sweaters and EVERYthing), and put our leashes on us. Off we wented! We both jumped into the car like we KNOWED we was going home... and we didn't even look back, not once. (WE ARE SAWRY FOR THAT, AUNTIE LINDA! WE LO-OOOOOOVE YOU!)
Our new place is pawsome. Our new parents are MORE than pawsome. And our new brofur & bestest buddy Petey is furtastically pawsome, too. We both feel so furry grateful to be here, to be cherished & cuddled & loved, and to be TOGETHER. We has definitely landed on all 8 feet, bol!
Both of us miss our old mommy & daddy more than we can pawssibly express. We will keep them in our hearts forever. But we are resilient & pawsitive, and we are so, so happy in our new forever home with Mama-Beth & Daddy-Russ and sweety Petey, and our lives are truly wonderfur. What a miracle... me Max, and me Charley, somehow we both gotted a gift of THE most impawtant thing in the hole wide world: to be loved forever.
Here's to happy new beginnings, y'all!

So many times we have viewed and enjoyed Maxx and Charley's Dogster profiles. It warms my heart to see the boys in their younger days and it makes me feel even closer to them. Then today I happened to click on some of their 'friends' and stumbled upon the 'MandC Forever Loved' profile. I couldn't believe it! It is a perfect recap of that wonderful Friday night almost a year ago when we travelled to McKinney, Texas, and found Maxx and Charley. It truly was love at first sight, and we just knew that they BOTH had to come home with us and be part of our family. We have often thought of you and how very much you must miss them. We know that there were special circumstances in your life and that it must have broken your heart to give up two of the most special pups in the world. Our hope is that you are safe and happy now. Please know that Maxx and Charley are safe, happy, and loved so much by us and Petey every single day. We have such a wonderful family of 5, and the boys have brought so much joy to our lives. They are the center of our world, and we work hard to give them all the best.
I should also let you know that Maxx is having some health challenges. In August, he had bilateral ACL surgery. He came through like a champ, and we carefully and lovingly nursed him through his recovery. However, at one of his follow-up visits in October, we discovered that he was experiencing liver issues. This has really taken a toll on little Maxxy, but every day we make a special diet for him, give him his meds, and lots of love. Lately he has done well, and we had a wonderful Christmas. Then on New Year's Eve, we noticed that Maxx was having trouble seeing. We went to the vet, and it seems that he has SARD - Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration. In less that a day, Maxxy lost his vision. He is handling it as well as can be expected, and Charley and Petey are by his side every second. We are, too:) Tomorrow, we are taking Maxx to an Internist to get a better handle on everything he is going through. It breaks my heart to think that he can no longer see his brothers and the beautiful world around him. That's a big reason why I visited their Dogster profiles tonight. I wanted to see the pictures of Maxx running and playing during healthier times. You can rest assured that we are doing everything we can and sparing no expense to keep our baby healthy. It seems like fate that I stumbled upon this profile tonight...almost like you were reaching out to us. I felt compelled to leave this message for you. Here's hoping you find it...
