Not sure what to say in this first entry...I will get up more photos of Jamie this weekend possibly, our lives are pretty hectic right now! For being so young, he is picking up on the house rules pretty quickly! He hasn't messed his kennel yet, though he has had a couple of accidents on my bed: one when I was napping, and another right after we'd been outside and he had peed...not sure what to think about that. I know that he peed when we were out because I bent over to check. Sometimes he'll squat but not really do anything. The biggest dilemma right now is when to start his vaccines. A friend who works at Spay and Neuter KC told me last night that they start them at 6wks and do four rounds instead of 3, while the vet that I plan to take him to doesn't start vaccines until 8wks. Price definitely plays a part as I only work part time right now. SNKC has a package deal for vaccines and neutering; I believe if you do all the vaccines there, they will take $30 off the neuter. I'm not sure how much it costs at Mariposa (the vet), I'll have to check. I would be wary of having him neutered at SNKC since most of their business comes from area shelters, but I know that my friend would not want me to take him anywhere subpar. I just want to make sure that he is comfortable when it's done, I've never been to SNKC but it just feels like it would be noisy and a little traumatic for him, where as Mariposa is like a buddhist monestary. We shall see. I need to do some research on when is best to do vaccinations and the age a dog can be neutered, etc.
