Dad took Ollie to the vet!

Ollie played sick. dad took him to the vet and he checked out fine. Mom and Dad should have put him in Time Out but they didn't. Ollie was coughing. Mom said she thinks it was allergies.

I'm doing OK. Mom says I am walking worse lately. My knee doesn't work so good. It really is not so bad. I can still run real fast and I walk real good. I just walk funny. Mom said if my heart gets stronger I can get surgery for my knee. I just let her take care of thet stuff. I take my meds and do what she says. I don't play sick like Ollie did. I'm a good girl.

October

October is almost over. It went by so fast. I love the cooler weather we are having now but soon it will be winter. I like to lay in the sun and just watch the clouds go by.

My knee is the same. Mom says I need surgery to fix it. It doesn't hurt me. It makes me look funny when I walk but it doesn't stop me from running and playing when I want to. I don't want surgery. Mom says when I get heart worm treatment and am well from that I have to get my knee fixed. I know I will have to go stay at the vet for a few days and I don't want to. I'm scared. I just won't think about it. I'll forget all about it and maybe it won't happen.

Dew is going to her new home on Friday. We are all being special nice to her. I don't think I'll miss her too much. She stays on the back of the sofa all the time. She hardly ever plays with me. She's real scared of everything. Oh well I do wish her a very happy life.

I'm OK

I'm doing OK. I feel great and I play all day with my friends. Mom says I should not jump or run because I have a Luxating Patella....that's people talk for a bad knee. It doesn't hurt me so I just do what I want to. I am happy here with all my friends. I still miss Buddy but I know he's happy now and he's not sick anymore so I am just going to remember the good times.

It's been rain, rain, rain for 3 days now off and on. I don't mind the rain except we it's no fun to go outside when it's wet. I been sleeping a lot and just layin on Mom's lap when ever she sits down. I have played with Cookie and Puff and Bella too. Mom fusses at us cause we bump into the coffee table and stuff. She doesn't like it when we knock stuff over. She likes stuff where she puts it. She's funny.

Buddy's really not coming home again.

Bella said her brother was never coming home again. I thought she was just kidding me. He did tell us all good bye. He told us he was going to a place where he would wait for us but I thought he was just going to the vet yet again. Every day I waited for Buddy to come home but he is never coming home again. I understand now why Mom and Dad are so sad. I loved Buddy. He was a good friend. I hope he's happy there where he is. I hope he can see that we all miss him very much and that he knows we all love him.

Poor Buddy

Buddy is not feeling so good today. Mom had to give him meds for pain. She is talking to his vet tomorrow and she said Buddy will probably be leaving tomorrow for the Rainbow Bridge. She said he is not enjoying life anymore and she can't stand for him to be in pain. She said she loves him too much to let him suffer. She's real upset and I saw her crying when she hugged him good night. I will miss Buddy too. He's my friend and the big brother to all of us. He's been the big brother to lots of dogs since Mom and Dad started fostering. He has helped a lot of us feel wanted and loved.

Tuesday

It was a nice 3 day weekend. Of course here it's always the weekend. My foster parents are retired so we go with the flow of an easy life.
Mom and Dad went and spent much of the day doing a fundraiser for ARF-LA. That's te awesome rescue I belong to untill I am adopted. They sold yummy food, had fun stufffor kids and games for dogs. Mom had the adoption booth. They said it was very hot and dry and dusty. They were so tired when they got home and Sunday they didn't do much but stay in the air conditioned house. I stay where it's cool all the time. WeLLLLL sometimes I go out and sun myself.
I'm feeling OK. Mom says she is very pleased that I am doing well with my knee. She said she wants me to be careful not to hurt it so we can get the heart worm treatment finished before my surgery. I do try but I love playing with my little buddy, Puffin. He's so much fun.
I'm going find Puff. It's time to play.

Bad news

I went to the vet again. I like her. She is a real nice lady and a good vet. She checked me out real good. I don't have worms. I don't have baby heart worms but I do have adult ones in my heart. I have a Luxating Patela. My knee cap is on the side not on my knee as it should be. It makes me walk funny and sometimes it bothers me but not often. The vet said I need surgery. Mom said she can get it done for me for $700.00. I think that's a lot of money for her to come up with. I know the rescue has a lot of dogs to take care of so it would be hard for them to pay it. Mom said she is going to find a way to get it for me. She seems very sad since we went to the vet. I think she is worried about me and about me having surgery. It will be OK. I know it will be OK.

Saturday 5/22/11

My knee hut tonight. I was playing kind of ruff with my friend Heidi and it started to hurt. Mom said she thinks I have a lucsating patella. That is not a god thing. She says she is afraid I will need surgery and if I do it will cost a lot of money, hurt me and take a long time to get well. She also said she's afraid it will hurt my chances to be adopted. Not good news but she also said for me not to worry about it. She said that is her job.

I got 2 new friends yesterday. One is a tiny little black terrier mom calls Willow. The other is a Boston Terrier biy she calls Scooter. Scooter is in quarantine so we don't get to play with him yet. Willow is real nice. She is not ready to play yet. I will give her time to understand she is safe and then she will want to play.

I'm free!

Mom let me loose with th eothers today and I love it. She was all surprised when I went out to potty. I learned how to go out the doggie door and so I go out to potty. That's no big deal. I still have medacine to take every day but that's OK. I have to go to the vet and get my stitches out and start heart worm, treatment soon. Maybe later this week. Mom said I have to be all clear from the kennel cough.I feel good.

I like my foster home. The other dogs here are real nice and I am making friends. It's going to be nice staying here. I feel comfortable.
