I wanted a Border Collie Mix dog. Although we were interested in adopting from a shelter, we knew we wanted a Border Collie/Shephard mix, and the only way to be sure that was what we were getting, we chose from an advertisement (not a puppy mill or pet store). Loka was born on a farm from a Mother Border Collie/Spaniel mix and a Father who's a Border Collie/German Shephard mix. Her mom was pregnant when we saw the ad, and within a few days she was born and one of a litter of 6 (4 girls). I met her when she was 10 days old and fell in love with her right away. I was updated regularly with photos from the breeder, so I watched her grow until we brought her home at 9 weeks. She looks so much like a purebred Border Collie, people call her a Border Collie right away.
I call her Loka-Dot (rhymes with Polka Dot) because she has a white dot on her right side and a black dot on the top of her head.
