Our neighbor lady, Steffie, had two Schipperke dogs. Tabitha died in November, and Henry died earlier this year in February. Steff is a very nice elderly lady who will give me treats. Kit comes to visit her too when we go to see Steff.

Her daughter, Andrea, works at several barns feeding and taking care of horses. One of the barns she tends had a dog who was hanging around for more than a week. The woman who owns that barn posted fliers all around and asked vets in the area and had him scanned, but no chip. He is already neutered and is about 1 1/2 or 2 years old.

Andrea told Steff about the pup--who they were calling Jethro(NCIS)--and Steff told her to bring him home. So tonight, he came home with her. He is a very handsome boy; I have a picture of him on my page. I think he might be Redtick Coon Hound or English Coonhound. He does not have any patches on his back...just the red ticking. So far he is a very quiet pup. When we went to see him and was very nice. Kit even came to see him and he was good with her, too. I am going to suggest that the call him Magee.

Well, after more than a week of posters hanging around about Jethro, someone called the barn and said it is her dog. She saw a poster at the grocery story. "Max" has been missing for more than month. Her "husband doesn't like the dog and it knocks over the kids." The woman said that they didn't want him back and that you can keep him. She also said that he is 8 months old and she had never taken him to the vet, but Max/Jethro appears to be neutered. Go figure.

Steffe decided to change his name to Komere (come here) because when you said come here and does. BOL! I think it is a cute name. Stef is going to make a vet appointment for him as soon as possible.
