Nora's Life

It's summer!

Wow - California really gets hot in the summer, especially if you are a Norrbottenspetz that originated in the cold Nordic countries.

My favorite spot on these hot summer days is the cool tile in the hallway. I like to lay there to cool off after playing in the yard or going for a long walk.

My owners just got one of those crazy slings for throwing a ball. Now I can chase it clear across the big grassy field at the end of the block. Of course, I don't always bring it back to them ;-)

I'm kind of getting over chewing everything but once in a while I just get a hankering for a nice sock, or a book, or even a rock.

One of my new passions is sprinkler heads. I love to get a drink at a sprinkler when we are on a walk. I've even had the opportunity to fix a broken sprinkler that refused to pop-up. I hope the homeowner appreciated that!

One nice thing about summer is that my owners take me with them when they go out to dinner. We sit out on a patio where everyone tells me how pretty I am and feeds me snacks like tortilla chips. Yum! When they don't feed me I jump up like a kangaroo to get their attention. I'm not spoiled, just hungry.

My first week in California

Ugh, I hated that flight from Denver to San Francisco! The people were nice enough but all the strange noises and being in my kennel for 4 hours was scary!

When I finally got to the San Francisco my owners let me out of the kennel and gave me some water. Phew! I felt much better.

Then we went home and I got to know my new house and yard. It's nice here but I miss the snow in Vail.

It took a week to get my new owners trained to fix my food properly but now it tastes great. I also had to open up a few chew toys before they figured out that I should chew on bully sticks and bones instead of toys.

On Friday they took me to the vet and had me checked out. I'm healthy and have great teeth! (I knew that ;-).

This weekend we went to a big grassy area where there were lots of other dogs and I got to play with them.
