Arrival Story: One day when I was at the dog park with our Cairn Terrier, Morgan, I saw a Saluki and a beautiful white with black spots sighthound that I couldn't identify. When I asked her breed, her owners told me she was a Silken Windhound, and told me a very brief history of the breed. I had been looking into getting a Whippet pup, but was worried about the cold Minnesota winters with their super short fur. When I got home, I started researching Silken Windhounds. It wasn't long before I decided that THIS was the breed of dog I really wanted. Luck was in my favor in that a breeder only 20 minutes from me had recently whelped a litter of pups. He invited me to come and meet his pack as he still had the sire, dam, and three of the five pups. I went to look at the female pup, but after spending some time with them, I decided I was interested in the male that they weren't keeping, Sergei. The rest is history! He came home with me a week later!
