Rain Breath

It has been raining forever in the Tristate. The Ohio River is flooding. Fortunately, although we live in the Ohio River Valley, and only a few miles from the Ohio River, we are on a HILL. No worries of flooding beyond the usual threat of damp basement.

Meanwhile, Mom has noticed that when it rains, I get Rain Breath. She first noticed Rain Breath on Mulligan, one of my predecessors.

Mom thinks it's almost like "Morning Breath," except that it only happens when it Rains! It's kind of a muggy, different smelly breath from my normal.

I don't know why I get Rain Breath! Perhaps it's just because I get so lazy when it rains, and sleep much more.

I do know that after Pennie and I returned from an errand with Mom, she tried to get us to go outside straight from the car and we refused! We both just stood in the garage and stared at Mom. Then Mom tricked us. She closed the garage door and let us in the house. The she shoved us both out the back door, but since the garage door was closed, we could not immediately just run around and into the garage. Some day I am so sending that woman out to potty in the rain!

MOM does not find my breath stinky (unless I have snacked on poop, or been licking my bottom. There's no accounting for Mom particulars!)
However, Mom has just noticed that when it rains all day, I just have a particular breath odor, and every time it rains, it is the same. Pennie doesn't get "Rain Breath." Mulligan did get "Rain Breath."

There is nothing wrong with your breath Sophie. You and Pennie have great breath. Don't take it personal. At least when you have bad breath you can still sleep in bed. Dad has to sleep on the couch when he has foul breath from Asian cuisine or something rather garlicky.

I hate the rain too! I get very squinty and can barely negotiate around in it. Mom finds that puzzling since I will jump in any lake or puddle. Mom doesn't think I get rain breath but last night, coming home from the park, I had definite dead breath. Mom isn't sure what I ate but she said I stunk!
