Does your dog have a favorite activity toy that does NOT involve food/edibles (not Kongs or Bully Sticks?)
I need recommendations for puzzle toys for Bacon.
Zoe gave him one of those squares with cutouts, where you put multiple squeaker toys in, and he loves it, figuring out how to get them out.
Bacon needs constant entertainment or he gets destructive, and I don't want to overfeed him. Besides that, with his allergies, he can't do peanut butter, or chewlottas, or really many foods at all.
Since I know he LOVES toys, I'm hoping you have some more puzzle toys or hide-stuff-inside toys that you could recommend.
Have a word with Pogo's mum.. I know she has bought some toys Pogo loves.. tell her Pam sent you !!
We live out in the toolies so I have to order online for most of our dog stuff. I have ordered from Best Friends General Store several times. Fast shipping. Plus they are Dogster members.
Anywho, click around this page
Dog puzzle toys for some ideas. Maybe you can find some locally.
Zoe!!! I still play with my X-mas box all the times!!! Wooohoooo! Mama stuffs about 8-9 toys in there and I pick it up and shake it hard as I can til toys go flinging all ovfur the place!!!
MISS PAM! My Mama sent a PPR to the Pogo PUP!!!! What a pretty girl! She sure sounds like fun! Rolling in dead ratses!!! Wooohoooooo! Good times. BOL!
Oh, that is a toughie for me...all my toys for 'self-entertainment' are for putting food in. If he eats dry kibbles at all, there are balls that need the dog to move them around so the food falls out, equaling exercise and rewards.
At Petco, growlmy has seen balls that playback your voice when the dog moves them.
The catalogues for Dr Foster & Smith and for OmahaVaccine Company have great sections for doggy toys, too.
Sorry growlmy can't be more helpful...
That's okay, Freckles & Ingrid.
I was so excited when I saw those long-lasting rubber balls that you insert the disks into, they're like compressed chicken. Those really occupy his time, but they upset his stomach.
Same with the Kongs and peanut butter.
I could do the food ball with his kibble. We actually had one of those talking treat balls when Ernie was a pup, that Ez recorded himself saying "Get the treat, Ernie, Get the treat, Izzy!" It was so obnoxious after awhile! LOL!
I'm not allowed no food either, Auntie Mel, but I love love LOVE my Nylabones! I can chew on those for hours and hours!
hey bacon i have a toy that looks like a bird house with a buncha stuffed birdies inside that i love to figure out how to get them out....i know they also make one thats a tree stump with squirrels inside and a beehive with bees in it..its called hide-a-squirrel

hu-sis says the problem is i dont put them back in and leave em scattered all over the house so she hasta go lookin all over for them.....i like to think of it as a game within a game....BOL
Bacon, is there kibble you can eat> If your Momma puts them in the puzzles but subtracts from your fudz you will not get chubby. I had a cube that gave me treats but Mom kept making it harder & harder to get them. Hmmmf-she said I had to werk fur my fudz.
I want this talking ball-BOL. I bet I can drive Tiger crazee wif it! http://www.activedogtoys.com/Talking_Babble_Ball.h tml
Sorry Bacon. I'm so lazy I sleep on my SNACKS sometimes all say long. I got nothing for ya
I have two toys like Harley's and I LOVE them! One is a soft boxy-thing full of stuffie balls, and the other is a gingerbread house with Christmas stuffies inside. I only get that at Christmastime. I love them! (Did I say that already?) BUT, they are stuffies and I'd tear them to pieces if mommy didn't keep watch!
Sorry, most of my favorite toys are the stuffed animal kind I can squeak and sleep on. I even fall asleep with them in my mouth!
Can Bacon eat stuff like carrots? Nelly won't eat raw carrots but she will eat cooked carrots. They shouldn't upset his stomach. Sometimes I cook carrots in a small amount of chicken broth to make them extra delectable.
Sorry you can't have many treats. I have chicken wrapped around sweet potato treats that both Duncan & I love. Mum sometimes puts them in a Kong. I'm pretty happy with nylabones and stuffies so I'm not much help.
Harley uses a Kong Galileo chew bone and it keeps him entertained for a long time, he also takes it outside with him and chews out there. I also use his ball with dry kibble and he takes that outside and bats it all over the place. It gets pretty noisy if they use them in the house.
Bacon, I am also tough on toys--here are some that I've found to be stronger:
That link that Zoe gave you above--those Kyjen Hide-A -Toys within that page--I've found them a little tougher than other toys--just don't use them unsupervised--mama keeps me from chewing them apart by offering me a different piece when I start to chew one piece.
Like you, I have tummy problems, so I only get kibble as treats, but my mama sometimes puts part of my daily ration in a Kong, etc.
Also, I love to chew on Durabones--we get the biggest size and it lasts and lasts and lasts!
And I got a tug rope for Christmas that lasted for a couple months--I loved to toss it around all by myself.
Hope this helps :)
Have you ever tried antler bones? We love them! They are super hard and last furever. Mom can always watch you with them at first. We've never been able to break off a piece.
