Sorry it's been over a week since I posted. I really didn't do too much until last Saturday. We had a small search and rescue training session. Just me and two other dogs with their handlers. This was a very tough one. We were at this park and it was kind of like a quarry (or a big bowl) and the scents just swirled around all over. None of us dogs found the person fast. We all almost hit on the person in the very beginning, but because of the way the scent was moving in the wind, we all went right passed the person. The other two dogs eventually found the subject, but mom pretty much had to show me where they were. I did really well until we cleared all the other areas, then I got frustrated cause I thought I checked everywhere. Mom was very patient with me and even the other handlers said I did good considered the poor circumstances. After that one, we did another small search. Fortunately this time I was able to find the person. I'm still not that good on my recall/refind, but everyone told mom to keep working with me cause I have a lot of potential and it will eventually click. We did do one little motivational right before we left. That's when I watch the person run away then hide behind something and I got get them. Really easy, but let's me end on a good note.

The other fun thing that happened is Emilie visiting with us. She came over yesterday morning. Dad made me stay in the crate most of the time until mom came home cause they weren't sure how I would act with her. My reputation with little kids hasn't been the best. I snapped at a neighbor boy once and I tend to roll my lips at kids. Not the bigger ones, just little ones. That's why mom made me where a muzzle for a while. I hate that thing, but mom said they can't take a chance that I would snap at Emilie. Not only would I hurt Emilie, but that would be the end of me and none of us want that. The vet told me that she was being a responsible owner by doing that and I would eventually be okay with Emilie. Emilie loves to pet us, pull our hair and play our backs like it's a drum. She's worse with Chloe cause Chloe just sits there. When she does it to me, I just walk away. Mom eventually took the muzzle off and she said she is SO PROUD of how good I am with Emilie:) Dad said he thinks its cause I know that Emilie is part of the family and he's right. I would never do anything to hurt her. I might hurt someone if they try and hurt Emilie, but I would never hurt her myself. Mom and dad are still cautious and I'm okay with that. Over time I will be sure to prove to them that Emilie is my buddy and we're going to have a lot of fun growing up together:) Mom took a couple pictures, but not as many as she wanted to. A little hard when Emilie keeps trying to take the camera from mom. No, I don't look thrilled in them, but even though I was a little stressed at first, I did have fun with her.

Mom said we finally get to go to the mountains this weekend... YEAH! We haven't been there since New Year's. Way too long for all of us. It's suppose to be really cold, but I don't care, I just want to get away.
Speaking of the cold, I hope everyone is staying warm and safe during this "deep freeze".

Welll, I gotta go round up Emilie. I'll drop another line when I get a chance.
