Hi pups, well I had my girl surgery and I'm doing great. The first night I was sore and had pain meds. The foster, Petey, was still "after" me that 1st night and I didnt mind so much, so mom had to keep us away from each other. Well the next morning I woke up a different woman! If he came near me I about bit his head off!!!!BOL So he learned real quick to stay away.
Mom is going to have Petey "fixed" Friday or next week. She kind of feels bad doing that to him over Christmas, but she will be off work! He is doing great! Mom says he is one of the most loving, lap pups she has ever seen! My human bro loves me a lot but not real crazy about my furbro's but it didnt take more than an hour for him to fall in love with Petey(I'm getting jealous). My humanbro thinks Petey is so sweet and loving! I am too but I'm just about 70lbs bigger than him!BOL My humanbro doesnt want him to leave and that just shocks Mom, cause he is always getting tired of "dogs" being around and Mom spending so much time with us! Mom just thinks it will be so hard with 4 dogs and the expense of them! Well he will be here thru Christmas thats fur sure! Oh, Mom says that he has real dry skin, that it is flakey and dry. He's had 2 baths with oatmeal shampoo but he is scratching very bad.(no fleas). Any ideas on what to do for him?
She thinks with him being fed good food that it will help his skin but might take a while (no telling what he was being fed, when he was fed).
Well just wanted to give a quick update, we know everypup is furry busy this time of year.

Sorry to hear Petey has the itchies. Maybe some fish oil would help.

Glad your girl surgery went well, Ms. Molly! Welcome to the land of no more puppies or going into heat- hurray. My Mom used to give us flaxseed oil capsules, the same as she takes, but now we eat Wellness dry food with flaxseed already in there and our skin and fur is lovely!

Nice to hear that the 'spay' is all done and went well...and that you are doing well, too.
Growlmy thinks there is something called 'Missing link' that may help with skin issues.
I get coconut palm oil about a teaspoonful every day, and I do not have itchies that much.

I'm glad the surgery went well. I've heard that fish oil works good for skin problems in dogs. Mommy uses it for skin problems herself. It would not hurt to call and ask the vet about the dosage since different dog of different sizes would require different doses.
