My humans have been trying to figure out why I use to have so many tummy troubles. They tried a variety of foods, sometimes I'd like it, sometimes...I just wasn't interested.
Mommy, took me to the ER and vet on a variety of occasions trying to figure out what was going on. I would scare her and she would run me to the hospital in the middle of the night. I would throw up and usually I did a soft #2 or #3. Yuck.
Mom and Dad would always have to wipe my bottom down and would say that I always had mudd butt! : ( I felt so bad about it...
Grandma use to ask why I was warm all the time and Mom was wondering if she should worry because I slept so much. She thought maybe I was just geriatric. That sleeping was natural.
Well, last month, I had major butt problem...almost like hemmaroids or something. I finally threw up a few times and had #3 too...I was sent to the ER and had to stay overnight because I was dehydrated and they wanted to do test to see if I had an abdominal tumor or something horrible like that.
I felt bad that Mom had to go into debt on account of my digestive problems. But she said it was nothing...don't fret. I really didn't want to stay at the hospital but the people were nice and I was never alone. I didn't like having to get an I.V. though, it hurt...but they said I needed to get essential fluids back into my system. I couldn't sleep all night. I was worried that I would never seem my humans again or my bed!
The next morning, my humans came to get me and they had good news. No cancer!!! I had to be transfered to my vet though, I just wanted to go home.
Dr. Sharp gave me special food, Hill's Science Diet WD and a shot. He said I could be out patient and I was relieved. I just wanted to go home.
After a few days or normal stools, Mom noticed a strange protrusion coming out of my behind. She thought it was odd and tried to pull it out and noticed that it was attached. YIKES. She pushed it back in and quickly made an appointment to see the vet again! Oh, poor mommy.
She thought it was a hemmaroid...so did Dad. I went in to Dr. Sharp and he said I had a rectal polyp. Surgery was scheduled for the next week.
I healed very fast and to my human's delight...I got stronger, peppier and happier. Mom noticed that my temperature was normal to the touch, I had more energy for long walks and I was more social. She also loved that my appetite was healthy and I had normal #2's....my reoccuring ear infections even disappeared. I feel so great, like I'm a puppy again!
Thanks Mom, for not giving up on me and for spending the money to make me better. I am grateful, forever.
