I guess a first entry should start at the beginning. My mom was a mix breed cattle dog. She was black and had a little white stripe down her chest. My dad, everyone is pretty sure, was a full blooded cattle dog. He was a real herding master. Even when he started having vision problems he kept working and doing his job just as good as any dog with full vision. They are both gone now. Mom got caught killing donkeys and was put down and dad lived to a ripe old age and finally passed away on the farm he worked so hard on.
When I was born a lady came and took pictures of me and quickly got me a new home. It wasn't very far away at all, but it was a big difference moving from an outdoor country home to an indoor town home. There were a couple of dogs there already. One named Puddles was much older than me and she was the boss. She was sweet and took good care of me and Bear until she passed away. Bear was my natural buddy. He is a lot bigger than me because he is a german shepherd/siberian husky mix. We had a good time playing and getting into trouble together.
After many years, it was time for me to move again. There was some trouble about us being too loud and the neighbors being big butt heads. The humans said we were heading to the country to live. Our hu-mom's niece was preparing a pen for us where we could bark just as much as we wanted. I sure was surprised to see the lady with the camera again that had first brought me here.
It was an eventful ride to her house because Bear decided to wrap his paws around her headrest in a death grip. You should have seen her prying him off the seat. I didn't do anything like that though. I just hung out in the back and looked as the trees passed by. We finally made it there and boy was I shocked to see all the other doggies standing in pens waiting for the two new pack members to show up. They were all excited about us and started barking out welcomes as soon as we stepped out of the car.
I'm not sure what happened, but about a month after we got here my big brother attacked me. I still have scar tissue on my neck. He almost got put to sleep though. Even though I was pretty scared of him for quite a while after that, I'm glad he's still with us. After that attack I didn't get to stay with him anymore. I moved into another pen with another cattle dog mix. Eventually I just moved into the house with mom and her cattle dog. Now it is me, mom, Phantom, and Cowboy.
Life sure has changed from when I was a puppy or maybe it hasn't really changed that much at all.
