I arrived at my foster mom's house last night, after a trip in the car during which I threw up all over the backseat. Foster Mom (known hereafter as FM) was prepared though because she had these doggy covers over the seats. I wasn't too happy in the car because, once again, I was with an unfamiliar human in an unfamiliar situation... but FM did not scare me when I met her and I thought she was nice. I even licked her and solicited petting!
Once I arrived, I met the dog crew that lives here. Their names are Tess, Sully, and Izzy. I liked them okay but did not put up with it when the two smaller ones got fresh with me - I went right after them and pinned them on their backs and gave them a good telling-off. Nothing horrible... just enough muscle that they understood not to bother me. I like other dogs just fine but do not appreciate being snarled at for just walking by... or being constantly nose-bumped and poked and prodded into playing. I will play when I feel like it, thank you! I also met FM's other foster dog, Shotzie. He was huge and just wanted to play, play, play. I had to discipline him a lot too... he just didn't give up. I played with him a little bit but a lady has her limits - mine include NOT being mounted. The last time a male dog did that to me, I found myself pregnant. That's something FM says I will never be again because I will be getting spayed soon. Good... I got really sick after giving birth and I don't ever want to go through that again if I can help it.
Anyway, my first night was fine. I settled down in an enormous crate - it's like a palace for a little girl like myself! - and went to sleep without complaint. I was happy to see FM this morning and jumped all over her giving her hugs and kisses! I also got along very well with the other dogs. FM left us alone for a while during the day while she went to an adoption event for her rescue. Then she came home and picked up Shotzie... I guess today was his day to get adopted into his new family. I am happy for him, but kind of glad to see him go because life is much more peaceful around here now that someone isn't shoving their nose into my face every few seconds. I get along well with all of the other dogs here... we pretty much give each other our space and I am fine with that. I do like snuggling on the couch with them and FM, though... FM says I am a real cuddlebug. I love belly rubs and will happily roll on my side on the couch so FM can indulge me.
One of the neatest things that happened today is that I got this really delicious treat! It is called a bully stick and it was so YUMMY! Each of us four dogs got one and we all took them to different parts of the den and ate nicely. FM says I don't have any resource guarding issues at all because I let her take my bully stick away without any fuss. Izzy finished his bully stick first and so he kept taking mine away from me. I just let him do it but then would give FM my best sad eyes... then she'd tell Izzy to Give and then I would get it back! I amused myself a lot this way!
I must excuse myself because it is bedtime now. Time to snore!
