Eight years ago this Spring we were in search of a dog companion for our rambunctious puppy. We ended up at the pound one day and although we arrived in search of a lab, we left with a beautiful 7-year-old Aussie/Border Collie Mix. She had some pretty involved medical issues (and we were sure this was the only reason why anyone would even think of leaving her on the shelter steps), but once resolved, she became the most loyal, loving, and intelligent animal we could've hoped for. As an added bonus, she calmed our puppy down and served as his motherly protector, showing more patience with him than we could! Some might say she was lucky to have found us, but I believe we were the lucky ones.
Kyra peacefully left us on January 16, 2009 and will be forever missed.
Bio:
We're pretty sure she understood English. ;) She was one smart puppy. We will never be lucky enough to find a sweet girl like her again and were blessed to have her in our lives.
