Here is a nice happy story for a change of pace.
Taken As A Puppy, Seven-year-old Dog Returned To Michigan
September 09, 2010
MICHIGAN – You could call him one lucky dog.
A seven-year-old dog is back home in Michigan, years after someone stole him from his owner's back yard.
Jake was just a puppy when he was taken, and years later he showed up more than 350 miles from his home at a central Kentucky animal shelter.
His owner, Brad Davis, is thankful he put a microchip in the pup, the shelter used that chip to track Davis down.
It will probably take Jake a while to transition back to life in his old home, but Davis says that's fine, he'll be okay.
“I don't know if he remembers me yet,” said Davis, “but I'm sure he'll get to be once we get him home and he can see the kids, same house he was before, same backyard.”
Davis' daughter was two when Jake went missing, he says when he told her of the dog's return, she said 'I always knew he was coming back.'
That was in our local news station broadcast.
I will bark about Lenny sometime soon.
Do you pups all have microchips?
I do! Since I was 6 month old! Growlmy knows it is a good thing to have...but she hopes and prays that I will never have to be scanned because I am lost! Perish the thought!
Good night, pups! BAYL!
I have a microchip and a Together Tag! My pawrents are a pair of noids (I think that's what mommy said) about someone stealing me, because I'm so irresistible, BOL!!!
I have another happy story. I had asked some furiends to pawray fur Lula, a local dog who was stolen in a burglary a few weeks ago. Today I found out Lula was found, and she's back home with her fambly!
wow...poor pup taken for 7 yrs but glad he was found. I do not have a chip. Wonder if I should talk to Mom about this, but she never let's me out of her sight either...BOL, it's like she has eyes in the back of her head.
And Yay for Lula being found too, I love happy stories!!!
Yesfurday, I saw a video of Jake & his family being interviewed . Jake looked very comfurtable with them. He was practically falling asleep!
I've been microchipped since puppyhood. It's not a very invasive procedure and relatively inexpensive. You nevfur know when some disaster or bad folks might come around and cause you to get sepfurated from your fambily.
Ideally one would hope to be reunited in less time than it took with Jake. But in the end he is back with his fambily! Yay!
That's a great, happy story.
Caileigh and I have our chips.
Whitley, Maurice and I have chips... Jez doesn't. But she is 17 and never, ever is allowed outside. ( Neither is Maurice but since he lives in an apt., it is a good idea!) All future critters in our house will be chipped.
Have your pawrents made sure your chip info is up-to-date? We have Home Again, and Momma makes sure if a phone number changes or anything, she goes in and changes it......
We are so stuck at our place that nothing except our ages has changed!BOL!
But yes, you would want to do that. Ours is also linked to the vet who placed it, and that is where also go for petcare.
