We visited Tufts University on Monday - that was the 2nd longest car ride I've ever been on! We went through tolls and the toll ticket takers/givers were very friendly, saying hello to me as I stuck my head out the window.

Tufts University is a HUGE campus but we found the small animal hospital just fine. There were lots of pets there already - dogs on one side and cats on the other, separated by a couple of walls. I got to see a lot of different kinds of doggies while we were waiting so that was a nice thing.

Once we were called, I was seen by a 4th year resident named Christina - she was very nice and I was nice to her until it was time to have my temp taken, then I tried to hide my hiney. I am very sensitive about that area but I made it through the temp check okay. They put me on a scale and I lost more weight - I'm down to 31.5 lbs.

Christina took some notes then returned with the Carrie, the vet. Carrie read the notes and talked to Momma and Daddy and confirmed that our local vet was doing a great job in diagnosing my IBD. Carrie wanted to have an x-ray done of my chest and a blood test just to make sure there's nothing else going on.

Carrie recommended that I change my diet (again) - this time I'm on venison and potato (dry kibble and canned wet food) - and to start weaning me off the Prednisone since that seems to be the main culprit in my rapid weight loss.

The chest x-ray turnd out okay, showing no obvious abnormalities -whew! The blood work results will come later in the week.

In addition to my IBD, Carrie noted that there could also be other underlying disease in the process - possibilities of autoimmune or even cancer so we're all hoping that this new diet and weaning me off my meds will help me gain some weight and back to my normal self. Momma and Daddy don't even want to think of the other possibilities right now.

Thank you again to all my friends for thinking of me - all your kind words, thoughts, and prayers are helping us all get through this one day at a time. =)
